                          There he sat, outside the tent. Your screams weren't a pleasant sound and it worried him. Does giving birth actually hurt that bad? He knew you'd be alright but still, he just wanted you to be safe. Every since you told him you were pregnant he was happy, he wanted a boy. A fighter he could teach and possibly be beside him when taking over places. He didn't want a girl, if it was then he said he was going to give her up for adoption. 
                          He kept telling you that this boy would make the Legion stronger and destroy the NCR. But something deep within him wanted to go away from the Legion, he wanted a normal family. He was taken and raised by the Legion when he was younger. He wanted to see how it feels to be a "loved one". He knew he had to be loyal to Caesar, one of the slaves walked out and said I could come in. Walking to your side he was curious to see what the gender was, it was 50/50, more like a 60/40 to Vulpes. The slaves handed the baby to you and were scared to tell us the news. "It's a girl" one spoke up.

                          Shocked, I looked down and seen the baby just laying there, in my arms. What was Vulpes going to do? He didn't want a girl, it would be nice but it was up to him. I slowly looked up to him and seen him looking down at us. His face held no emotion, like always. "We're giving her up." I already knew he was going to say that, but damn it was hard talking back to him. "Wait Vulpes, please. It's just a girl" "girls are useless to us, unless she's going to be cooking or being a slave then I see why not?" No way was I going to let her go through that. "No, if she's going to be that way then..I'm leaving with her" this was Vulpes' chance to finally see what a family was like.
                          He wouldn't let you live in The Fort with Legionary's around. Maybe somewhere safer for the both of you. But, the Legion was a safe place, no NCR or Powder Gangers. "I promise, we'll try again for a boy soon, just let me keep her" he seemed to think, when he suddenly turned to the slaves and threatened both of them. "If one of the Legionary's hear about my child being a girl, I'll have you crucified and hung myself" they both nodded eagerly. As scary as he was, they were both somewhat happy that there was a girl, not a slave but a free little girl. 
                          As cold hearted as he was, you knew you were the only one who could break down his walls and get him to agree on something with you.
