plans?

Shadow let his arm fall to his side as they walked inside, his gaze scanning the party ahead of them. Sonic fixed his bowtie and glanced over at Shadow with a grin, "Got any plans yet?" He asked.

"Hm, not really. Just keep your eyes open for anyone suspicious."

"Noted."

Sonic nodded and walked off to a pair of double doors and stood on a side porch outside. There were people out there and he wanted to be sure there wasn't anyone who looked out of place.

The blue hedgehog shifted his attention when he heard Shadow calling his name. He quickly walked back inside and met up with the other hedgehog, his expression shifting to one of confusion when he watched Shadow point towards two black figures.

"Them over there. They've been looking around and I almost locked eyes with the hedgehog."

"What species is the other one?"

"..A bat?"

Sonic chuckled at the uncertainty in Shadow's response, but nodded either way to show acknowledgment. The blue hedgehog watched as the other hedgehog walked off, leaving the bat alone. "Hey, Sonic, now I think I do have a plan."

"Oh? I'm listening?"

"Introduce yourself to her. See if we know her."

Sonic blinked, "Seriously? Well, okay." While he was a bit worried, the blue hedgehog decided to follow along with Shadow's plan and began walking towards the bat.

Sonic's POV

I looked around cautiously as I walked towards the buffet table where she was standing. I waited briefly, watching as she put her phone to her ear and groaned. "Why won't he pick up? I have information!"

I recognized the voice immediately. I wasn't sure if it was who I thought it was, but I didn't have many other options. I set my empty plate down and spoke up.

"Rouge?"

"Blue! Oh thank Gaia!" She sounded happy to see me as she turned around and stuffed her phone in her dress. Rouge looked around and pulled me closer to her. "What are you doing here, Rouge?"

"I called in sick because I know the guy who's gonna bomb the party. He went to go plant it and I'm trying to call Shadow."

I smiled, placing my hand on her shoulder. "Why do you think I'm here? I'm working alongside Shadow. He's across the room!"

"Seriously—?! Come on, he knows who's bombing the party!"

"Wh—?!"

I gasped as Rouge grabbed my hand and pulled me across the room.

No POV

Rouge grabbed Shadow's attention and watched as the other seemed surprised to see her. "Rouge? I thought you were out sick?" Shadow asked as Sonic moved to stand next to the other. He could've sworn he saw Shadow blushing.

"I lied so I could capture the guy on my own, but now he's off planting the bomb." Rouge explained as Shadow crossed his arms and sighed. "Who is he?"

"Scourge. Scourge the Hedgehog."

"My anti? When did he get here?"

"Last week. I had been keeping my eye on him. I was gonna make his capturing a surprise, but he has me under his watch and I can't stop him. One of you need to."

Shadow perked his head up, his brows raising as he looked at Sonic and then Rouge. He had a plan.

"Or, hear me out, I have an idea."

Rouge leaned forward, her lips curving to a smile. "Spill it."

"Okay, here's the plan."

Rouge took a breath as she straightened out her dress and listened as her heels clicked against the marble floor while she walked towards Scourge.

He was fixing his suit as he turned his attention to Rouge and grinned. "Nice to see you're still here, babe."

"Where would I go without you, darling?" Rouge almost gagged, but swallowed the urge and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Hey, me and you should borrow a bedroom. I have something to show you."

"That so?" Scourge hummed as Rouge trailed her gloved hand down to the hedgehogs hand and slowly pulled him along to a certain room.

Rouge nodded, glancing over to see Sonic going down the hallway she knew Scourge had went down earlier to plant the bomb. She hoped her calculations were correct...

And with that, Rouge pushed open the door to a (seemingly) vacant bedroom and grinned to herself when she saw Shadow hiding in the closet. The door clicked shut and Scourge grabbed Rouge's waist.

"We've only got about twenty minutes, sugar. You think you can handle only twenty minutes with me?"

"Quite positive," Rouge hummed, walking towards the bed and turning back to Scourge with a wide smirk.

"Can you handle twenty minutes with me? Not many can."

Scourge parted his lips to respond, but found himself speechless when he was tackled to the floor, squirming and yelling.

"Wh- What's the big idea, Rouge?!"

"There isn't one, green bean. You really thought I'd sleep with you? Ugh, I'd never stoop that low." Shadow grinned deviously as he turned Scourge onto his stomach and cuffed him.

Rouge pulled her phone and dialed a number that would eventually get her in contact with G.U.N. She spoke for a few minutes before hanging up, "They'll be here to pick him up in five."

Giggling, Rouge placed her gloved hands on her hips and looked at Scourge. "Think you can handle Shadow pressing your arm into your back for five minutes?" The bat laughed when Scourge growled. Eventually they all shifted their attention to the door to see Sonic.

He was holding what seemed to be a makeshift bomb in one hand while he gave a thumbs up with his free hand.

"Great work, guys."

i realized how short the second chapter was so i put chapters two and three kinda,, together? so maybe this'll be a bit shorter but hey! this chapter was much longer!

hope you're enjoying it so far, I'm trying to stick to the old plot as much as possible!
