Rouge waved towards two other clients who worked for G.U.N as they dragged off a screaming green hedgehog who was obviously upset that he had been caught. Sonic had given the other client the defused bomb.

"Hey, the music is still playing." Sonic noted as the three left the room to see many people still there and dancing. "I thought the party ended at 12:00AM."

Rouge shook her wrist to twist her watch around and shrugged, "Maybe not. Should we.. take the rest of the night off? I think we deserve it." The bat nudged Shadow's shoulder and winked, but Sonic thought nothing of it.

Shadow knew exactly what she was hinting at. He watched as Rouge blew a kiss and waved down a group of girls that the bat immediately seemed to get along with.

[[ play the song above now if you wish! it's the first song i thought of lol ]]

The black hedgehog took a breath and lifted his arm, "Care to dance?" Sonic gasped quietly, his hands grabbing Shadow's forearm as the song shifted to an upbeat one that helped the two start getting comfortable. Shadow glanced away and locked eyes with Rouge who was talking to the DJ.

"I-I don't really dance, Shadow."

"Nonsense. Follow my lead."

"If you're an animal then tear up the floor!"

Of course.

Shadow grinned and shifted before spinning Sonic around. They both ended up holding each others hands, their feet moving in sync with each other.

Rouge had grabbed a mic by then and started singing, getting the dance floor more alive. People noticed Shadow and Sonic and gave them more room to dance.

"Don't stop, keep it moving, put your drinks up!" Rouge sang as she held a drink up and watched people in the crowd mimic her. She grinned as she saw Sonic and Shadow, a hand on her hip while she sipped her drink.

"Having fun?" Shadow spoke into Sonic's ear as he pulled the blue hedgehog closer to his figure and laughed. Sonic's heart skipped a beat. This was like a dream come true to him. He wouldn't trade this moment for the world.

"Let the rhythm change your world on the floor!"

"Absolutely."

Sonic smiled and gripped Shadow's hand as Rouge started singing again. "I know you got it, clap your hands on the floor!" There was someone else beside her who provided the occasional male vocal, he was a wolf species and seemed intimidating enough, but Rouge was all for it.

The crowd clapped as Sonic spun Shadow this time and the two slammed their feet against the floor as the song slowed briefly before speeding up again. Shadow was facing the opposite direction of Sonic as the two held hands and spun each other around.

"If you're a criminal, kill it on the floor!"

Shadow pulled Sonic closer and grabbed Sonic by his waist before lifting the blue hedgehog up and turning around while staring up at him. Sonic laughed loudly, his arms spread out as the crowd screamed with joy.

Shadow could feel how fast Sonic's heart was beating.

It was near the end of the song now. Shadow set Sonic down and pulled the other along the floor and spun him around by the stage. "Shadow-!"

"Just trust me!" Shadow responded before he finally locked his arm around Sonic's waist and grabbed the blue hedgehogs hand with his free one and dipped Sonic one last time as the song finished and faded out.

The two were breathless, chests heaving and bodies covered in sweat as the crowd broke out into loud cheering and clapping. Rouge jumped off the stage and watched the two hedgehogs regain their balance. Shadow had the strangest urge to.. kiss Sonic after that, but he ignored it when Rouge wrapped her arm around the both of them.

"That was amazing!"

"Oh, it was nothing. Sonic put his trust in me."

Sonic beamed, his cheeks flushing due to how close Shadow had stayed to him while they danced. It seemed they both had some unspoken feelings that neither of them felt like discussing.

"Let's head home, then. It's been a long night."

Rouge motioned for Sonic and Shadow to follow her as she let them go. They had locked arms again as they walked. Neither of them was sure why, Sonic tried to convince himself it was for the sake of the 'mission', but in reality Shadow just wasn't ready for the night to end.

There was a car outside that was left for the three from G.U.N to reach their desired location for the night. Rouge had the keys in her handbag. "I'm driving!" Exclaimed Rouge as she got in the driver seat.

Shadow got in the passenger seat and Sonic got in the back as Rouge started the car. She turned her attention to Sonic with a smile, a hand resting on the steering wheel. "Where do I drop you off, Blue?"

Sonic parted his lips to respond, but was left speechless when Shadow cut in by saying, "He can stay at my house tonight. I owe him for tonight. I was an asshole to him earlier."

Rouge's smile widened and she turned around before pulling out of the driveway of the manor. While she wasn't exactly sure what card Shadow was playing at, when she glanced at the other and saw how flushed he looked, she could get an idea. She just hoped for the best.

"That cool with you, Big Blue?"

Why would he deny the opportunity?

"Of course!"
