WARNING: Suicide attempt and implied homophobia are present

Slowly, Kakyoin had been distancing himself from his boyfriend, Jotaro. Why? Because he was being bullied. Every day, Kakyoin would avoid Jotaro so he wouldn't find out about his situation. Every day, his mental health was slowly deteriorating.
It got to the point where Kakyoin was planning his death. The redhead didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Today's the day.
Kakyoin walked up the stairs to the school roof. He was moving fast, as he didn't want Jotaro to see him or be there before him. Luckily, no one was on the roof when Kakyoin opened the door. Slowly, the redhead took off his shoes* and left them by the bench he and Jotaro usually eat lunch at.
Kakyoin then placed his stuff down and approached the edge of the building. It was a long drop down. Kakyoin gulped, then closed his eyes and slowly leaned forward.
Is it really worth it, though? Death?
Before Kakyoin's feet could even leave the spot on the roof, something grabbed him and pulled him back up into a tight embrace.
"What were you thinking?!" It was Jotaro. Kakyoin just stayed quiet. Soon, the redhead couldn't help it. He started sobbing. He wasn't sure if they were tears of joy or sadness.
"I-I'm sor-ry...!" Kakyoin said.
"No... don't cry..." Jotaro muttered, trying not to cry himself. "I... wasn't there for you..." Jotaro and Kakyoin just stayed like this for a few minutes, until Jotaro started walking Kakyoin down the stairs to take him home.

Jotaro and Kakyoin were walking to school, holding hands. Kakyoin was keeping his head down as people shouted slurs at him.
"Jotaro, I think we should just stop holding hands." Kakyoin mumbled.
"No, I'll protect you." Jotaro said, glaring at all the people who shouted at Kakyoin, which quickly shut them up. Kakyoin smiled a little at that, knowing that Jotaro was going to protect him.

Slowly, day by day, Kakyoin's mental state was rebuilding. He even felt happier than before he was being bullied. He was running around more and laughing more. Kakyoin even noticed that the tiny voices that were previously there were gone.
Jotaro noticed this as well. Kakyoin seemed to always have a genuine smile on his face. The redhead was just so happy to be alive.
