Katniss POV
"Katniss?! Come on! Its time for school!" my mom yells pulling my from my sleep. I groan and sit up. "Katniss!"
"I'm up!" I yell getting out of bed. I walk to my bathroom, washing up than walking back to my room. I go to my closet, getting out some jeans and my rolling stones top. I pull them on before walking downstairs to see my mom.
"Hey, good. I thought I was gonna have to come up there." she says.
"Not needed..I'm up." I say. She smiles and heads to the kitchen as I lean back on the couch but soon my phone goes off. I groan and pick it up, looking to see I got a message from Annie, my best friend.
Anniegrl4: Hey Kat, I wanted to know if you could tell the teachers I won't be there to day. I'm really sick.
KitKat12: Sure, you okay? Oh..and what about Peeta?
Anniegrl4: What about him? He'll leave you alone. Just show him.
KitKat12: Yeah I know but he's such an ass
Anniegrl4: I know but still, don't worry about him but I gotta go. I need sleep
KitKat12: Alright, hope you feel better. Byebyezz
I put my phone in my pocket and stand up, putting my shoes on and grabbing my bag.
"Mom I gotta go!" I say.
"Alright honey, have fun today." she says.
"I will, bye. Love you." I say closing the door behind me. I put in my headphones as I walk down the street. Its not that I don't like school Its that one boy in the group. Peeta Mellark. I just can't stand him. Ever since he fell because of me when we were kids. I've gotten used to it by now but we still enjoy going after each other. I make it to school to see my group, Gale, Finnick, Thresh, Peeta, and Clove. Annie too but she's sick. I smile and walk over to them, getting a hug from Clove and Finncik.
"Hey Kitty." Fin says. "Where's Annie?"
"She's sick." I say. He sighs and nods. Finnick's had the biggest crush on Annie since 1st grade but never had the guts to say anything. But he told me and I think its kinda cute. I look over to get a glare from Peeta. I glare back and we wall walk inside. We walk to our lockers, mine is between Finnick's and Peeta's, obviously. I've tried to get changed but I can't. I open my as Peeta opens his at the same time. He groans and slams mine shut. "Peeta knock it off."
"What did I do? You got in the way." he says putting his stuff in. I yank his bag out of his hand and throw it to the ground. "Oh..how childish."
"Shut it." I say opening mine again and putting my books in before closing it and turning to leave but he foot steps in front of mine and I fall on Finnick causing us both to crash to the ground.
"Watch out where your going Kitty." he says walking by.
"Umm...oww?" Finnick says.
"I'm sorry Fin." I say standing up and pulling him to his feet.
"Its alright. Girls are always falling into my arms." he says making me smile.
"Of course they are." I say picking his stuff up and handing them to him.
"Oh come on...look at me. I'm the great, sexy Finnick Odair!" he says holding his arms up and giving me a slick smile.
"Yes but as far as I know the great, sexy Finnick Odair only has eyes for one girl." I say walking past him. He turns and walks next to me.
"Well yes but still. Thats not important." he says. Finnick and I were friends first, then we met Peeta then Annie. The rest came in middle school.
"Sure. I see the way you stare at her. Your soooooooooo inlove with her." I say making him blush lightly.
"Inlove with who?" Gale says scaring me.
"With you Gale. Finnick is deeply inlove with you." I say pinching his cheek lightly before walking ahead of them. I love just messing with them, its always fun. I walk into my class room and I sit at my spot. I normally sit there with Annie but today I'm alone. I get my stuff out and I put my phone away as the rest all walk in. Finnick and Gale sit behind me, teasing me making me laugh myself.
"Alright class, as you know we'll be going to Washington DC. in two weeks so I wanna go over all the presidents. I want you all to write an essay about your favorite president." our teacher says sitting down. He's pretty cool, with him we only do easy things. Peeta sits two spots in front of me, messing around with Thresh. "Peeta!"
"What?" he says.
"Stop it!" our teacher says. They keep messing around and the last straw is pulled when Peeta throws a ball of paper and it hits him. "Thats it! Go sit next to...Katniss! Away from Thresh!" Oh shit....
