Katniss POV
"Katniss, hey. Come here." Finnick says walking over to me. I stop as he gets to me. "I'm having a party this weekend. You wanna come?"
"Sure, I love your parties." I say making him smile.
"Just..make sure Annie comes." he says looking down.
"Aww...Finnick your so cute when it comes to her." I say pinching his cheek.
"Yes, I know but please. Get her to come." he says.
"I will. But who else is coming?" I ask as we start to walk down the sidewalk.
"Umm..Gale, Thresh, some of my friends from the other school and Peeta." he says making me frown. "Oh..and his brothers. Rye and Tye." I know..weird names.
"Oh..great." I say.
"Come on Kat. Please, you and I can hang out there. I'll make sure he doesn't bother you." he says wrapping his arm tightly around my shoulder.
"Fine! Okay..thats at least good." I say as I stop in front of my house. "I'll call you tonight to see about Annie okay?"
"Alright, thanks. Nighty Kitty." he says kissing my cheek before walking down to his house only a block away. Finnick is like...the brother I always wanted. He's always sweet to me and keeps Peeta off my ass and away from me most of the time. I walk up the stairs and into my house. I open the door to see Primrose, my little sister and her stupid cat Buttercup.
"Katniss, how was school?" mom asks as I set my bag down.
"School was...school." I say sitting down. Buttercup gives me a hiss making me roll my eyes.
"He loves you just...he has a different way of showing it." Prim says making me smile.
"Of course he does little duck." I say making her frown.
"Come on, you've been calling me that since 2nd grade." she says crossing her arms.
"And I'm gonna keep calling you it until collage." I say making her frown even more.
"Say Katniss...you know the place where I work is looking for some extra help. It would be nice if you could do that." mom says.
"Well..yeah sure." I say. "I just..you know I wanna go to collage."
"I know you do and you will. Just we need abit of extra money." she says.
"Alrighty, I will." I say making her smile
"Good but I'll start dinner." she says standing up and walking to the kitchen.
"Katniss can we do something this weekend?" Prim asks.
"Ohh..well...I'm going to a party on Saturday but on Sunday we can do whatever you want." I say making her smile.
"Good! I can't wait." I says. I smile and hug her tightly as mom walks in.
"Did I hear something about a party?" she asks sitting down.
"Yeah, Finnick's having one on Saturday." I say.
"You won't be drinking will you?" she asks.
"No mom! I don't drink, you know that." I say. She nods and sits down. "Its just a normal party like always."
"Just...don't stay to long." she says.
"Can't I stay the night?" I ask.
"Katniss, you know how I feel about that." she says.
"Please mom. I wanna have fun." I say. She sighs and looks down.
"Yes, you can its okay." she says making me smile. "Just be careful."
"Alright mom thanks." I say standing up. I walk up to my room and I grab my phone. I call Annie.
"Hello?" she says.
"Hey Annie, Finnick's having a party on Saturday and would like you to come." I say.
"Finnick? He's been acting strange." she says.
"Ohh....I don't think so." I say.
"Really? Oh well but I'll come." she says.
"Good, I'm glad I won't be alone." I say. "How are you?"
"I'm good. I went to the doctor then got some painkillers and now I'm much better. I'll be back in school tomorrow." she says.
"Thats good I'm glad." I say. "But you get some sleep. See you tomorrow."
"Yeah, night. Sleep well." she says before hanging up. I take a quick shower before heading to bed, excited and ready for the party but I never knew it would go so wrong.
