When I came out, it was only Lukas, Raelyn, Hunter and Nathan in the room.
"The rest will meet us at home. You have to sign your release papers."
I nodded and took a deep breath before walking out the door. I walked up to the desk and asked for my discharge papers. Quickly signing them before following Lukas outside to their car.
"Can we drop by my apartment to grab some things?"
"Yeah, no problem." Hunter spoke going into the driver side with Nathan in the passenger and then me, Lukas and Raelyn in the back.
Raelyn gave Hunter the address while I talked to Lukas.
I looked outside and saw that we arrived. I got out of the car following Raelyn. She opened the door and we saw Mason on the couch.
"Finally! I've been here for like, 10 hours. Where've you been?" He asked.
I didn't say anything and just went upstairs
I grabbed one of the duffle bags I recently bought and started throwing clothes in.
Then I looked to my side table and grabbed my important files for upcoming cases and went back downstairs.
"Raelyn? When are we going to court for the Jeffersons?"
"Um, in about a month." She said checking her phone.
"Damn it." I sighed.
"Come on Lukas." I spoke before going out the door and into the office building.
"Justin?" I asked as I walked in.
"Hey Ashley! How are you? We haven't seen you in a while." He said walking up to me.
"Yeah, hey, I'm good. How was the court for Walker?"
"It started off rough, because it was me and Lena's first time solo but then when we got comfortable, we rocked it to say the least."
"That's great. Did you memorize Jefferson's case?"
"Yeah, everyone did."
"Ok that's great because you're gonna assist Raelyn in court."
He looked shocked. "Are you sure? I mean Lena would be a better choice."
"No. You. Either you go or you don't, it's up to you."
"Of course I'll go."
"Great. These are my notes and key points that you'll want to study." I said handing him the file.
"Are you sure you want to give me this?"
"I'm positive Justin, just don't mess it up."
"Yeah, I won't. But what about Lena?"
"Why're you so worried about Lena? You got your chance, take it. Lena will get hers as well. This isn't the only case we'll be getting, granted, this one may be more important than others, but there will be more."
"Ok, thank you Ashley."
"Yeah, no problem. Make sure you know everything, you're gonna go to court in a month or so."
"Ok, thank you again."
"Yeah, don't let me down."
"I won't." I nodded and he walked away.
I walked forward and went to Lenas office.
"Lena?"
She looked up from her files.
