Mission abort

-The Mishap-

You quickly start flipping around in the air unsure how to use your pack, you notice two strings and pull them, the shoot opens and you're jerked upward as you safely glide down into the woods
after getting stuck in a tree you take off the pack and fall to the forest floor, completely alone. you quickly start getting yourself together and follow a small river you found, in the distance you see a a large fabric object next to a large rock, another parachute. You decide to yell in order to find whoever it belonged to "HELLO?" ANYONE OUT THERE?" you jump back after hearing rustling in some leaves, a giant muddy wolf walks out and starts heading your way "holy shit... Cliff! Have you seen the others?" He sits down in the flowing water to clean up "no... thought i was the only one that made it down alive, thang god you're here am i right heh" he washes off his face "you seen any of the others kid" he gets out and sits on a sunbathed rock "um, no i haven't...i think we should stick together and look for them!" he shrugs "yeah ok..." he looks up "the ship sure is pretty from down here isn't it" you nod and sit down, he stands up "well, ready to survive little man?" You stand and look up at him "i sure as hell am! Lets go" you both head into the woods, cliff picks various berries as he goes. After about an hour of walking cliff freezes "kid, did you head that?" You both stand still "erm no you ok man? He nervously adjusts his hat "somethings out here dude" you step back a bit in paranoia before hearing a snap.
Before you can even react you feel your body get lunged in the air as a rope tightens around your feet. "SHIT!" You yell, dangling upside down. "Cliff can you give me a hand?" He runs over and quickly starts going at the rope with a sharp rock "hold on man i got you" he soon stops and looks ahead of him "u-um dude" he points to a bush, you look over and see two familiar eyes peeking out. "Chloe?" You say before dropping to the ground with a large thud "gah, what the hell, why did you trap me!" She walks out and cuts you free with a makeshift knife "trap you, i just found you two idiots, i could never build something like this." You all look at each other confused, cliff intervenes and speaks up "hold on, i thought this planet was empty and was just us vs nature?" Chloe scoffs "yeah no shit, guess we aren't alone, better be fucking careful, i ain't dying out here!"
You all walk aimlessly in the woods, gathering resources as you go "hey cliff..." Chloe asks, he looks over "yeah?" She continues, "when i told you to take sentimental items only... why did you take Max's hat?" he lets out a deep sigh but stays silent Chloe looks straight Head "alright, sorry for asking". after about 5 painful hours of walking and no progress you find another river "holy shit water!" All three of you quickly run up and begin drinking out of the fresh shallow water. Cliff cleans off his face again, and Chloe remains covered in mud. "You guys think Sergeant Morgan made it down?" Cliff asks, No one responds. after another 4 hours of walking, the sun sets and a loud mechanical hum could be heard "um you guys hear that" cliff asks nervously, you Chloe both respond "yeah" Chloe's ears perk up and her eyes soon follow "is the ship leaving?" You look up and see the bright blue glow of the active thrusters "holy shit!" You say. Cliff immediately starts taking deep breaths in and into a panic "oh fuck, fuck fuck, im gonna die!, we're gonna die!" Chloe tries to calm him down "its ok, its ok, maybe its part of the test, just take slow breaths man" he slowly start to calm down, and suddenly the humming starts getting louder and louder. "Um guys, i don't think thats the ship" you say, as it gets louder, Chloe looks around "what the-" out of no where a bright red light shoots up from the distance and fires straight towards the starship causing a massive explosion. You all stand there speechless, cliff falls to his knees and Chloe gets teary eyed "no..." she utters before a massive piece of debris crashes next to them, you keep your cool and try to assess the situation "guys we need to take cover, NOW!" Chloe snaps out of her trance and helps you drag cliff under a large rocky overhang, you all watch as massive fiery pieces of ship fall down to the planet. "we're trapped...." Chloe says as she sits down not knowing what to do. "Its ok, everything is gonna be fine" you say, cliff curls up and just starts crying, after about 2 hours of nothing, the shower of debris stops and you walk out to look up at the clear sky "its all gone..." as cliff loses his mind you and Chloe start to build a shelter around the small indent of the mountain. "fuck...is this our life now?" You say , Chloe looks up at you "i guess so..." she sounds broken and defeated, you both lay down on the chalky floor and decide to get some rest....
