Olivia's Friday seemed to go pretty fast since her chat with Carol, which really couldn't have gone better. They looked into her concerns in more detail and turns out Olivia was right. She hated that she was right though, because it means the child couldn't live with her mother, but she knew it was best for her. She wasn't the least bit surprised when they found that the client was in fact using her own mother's details to hide the fact she had no funds to raise a kid. All her money went on alcohol and drugs and god knows what else. Which sucked of course. But the child's other grandmother and aunt are open to taking her in, so she's glad she brought it up. It felt good. She saved that kids childhood. She even got a "I'm proud of you." From Carol.
So when the clock hit 4, she was feeling pretty great as she made her way home. Excited for the evening ahead, with her and Fitz' friends. She would be lying to herself if she said most of her excitement was due to one particular person, but she of course would never admit that out loud. He's married. If anything, she was really, really glad she and him have become friends, as well as everybody else.
When she got home, she made some dinner for Abby and herself. "Oh my god smells delicious in here." Abby announced as she came in the door. "Your favourite." Liv winked, scooping lasagne on to their plates. Not forgetting the garlic bread. You never forget the garlic bread. Abby liked to say that. It was a fair point. "You are the love of my life." Abby gushed, taking a bite from one as she hugged her best friend. "Yeah I get that a lot."
"What time are the guys heading there?" Liv asked as they sat down eating their food. "8, I guess us too, I said we'd just meet them there, not like we're all going to fit in one Uber anyway." Abby shrugged. "Yeah best idea, I'm ready to get drunk, I deserve it."
"Oh my god how could I forget, did you speak to Carol?" Abby asked. "I did and I was like totally right.. the mother turned out to be an addict, which sucks so bad, I didn't want to be right, but I'm glad I brought it up." Olivia said. "Liv that's amazing. Well I mean not the addict part, but you standing your ground and trusting your gut. You saved a kid today. You saved her from a shitty childhood. I'm so proud of you. You definitely deserve to get drunk tonight." Abby smirked. "Thanks Abs. Yeah it feels good. I have you and Fitz to thank for this, I never would have talked with Carol if you two didn't tell me to."
"Hey, this is all you. This is your win Liv. Nobody else." Abby pointed out, making Olivia smile to her. She really had the best friend in the world. "You looking forward to tonight?" Olivia asked. "Yeah. I really love those guys." Abby laughed. "They're pretty awesome." Olivia agreed. "I also totally love watching Fitz and you bat eyes at each other." She was joking but Olivia still looked at her sternly. "Abby! We do not. I don't know why you keep needing to be reminded that he is extremely married. He's a dad, with two kids, and a very existing wife. You need to stop." She laughed lightly. "Well he certainly looks at you as if he doesn't have all that." Abby raised her brows. "You are so annoying."
The pair spent the evening getting ready. It was a pretty casual night so it didn't involve too much effort. Liv straightened her hair, did some light makeup and opted for a cute but simple outfit. Black skinny jeans, some heeled boots, a white long sleeved tight body suit with a lace detailing around the wide neck. She felt good, she knew she looked good. "Wow, I can not wait to see his face when he sees you in this." Abby squealed. "Abby!" Liv shook her head as she clipped some earrings in. "What? He has eyes?" She widened her eyes. "As does everyone. In the world, I don't see you bringing any of them into it." Liv sarcastically replied.
