Flint's POV

I've been in New Ninjago City for a while now, and still no traces of Evelyn. Fortunately this time, I was greet by some people with weird yet familiar purple markings on their faces.

"Purple markings...Chen," I realized

They came after me and after getting my attention started running away. I chased after them, and ended up in some alleyway they disappeared in. At the back was some shrine with four fortune cookies, and some missing picture.

'Your friend is alive,' the missing poster read

On the paper was a picture a man with smooth hair and some robe, a ninja gi. It was Zane...
I took one of the fortune cookies and cracked it open, looking at what it had to say.

'Master Chen had personally invited you to participate in his Tournament of Elements,'

After seeing this I cracked the other three open right away to see what they read, together the other three made this.

'Secrecy is of the utmost importance, tell no one, or suffer the consequences and come alone. If you ever want to see your friend again, meet at the pier at midnight and leave your weapons behind. Master Chen will be expecting you, along with many others to compete, should you win you will gain the best prize and your friend back,'

After reading that another fortune cookie appeared out of nowhere. I cracked that one open and it added something else.

'I'm sure her powers are going to be useful'

I almost chucked the papers right there and then.

"Best prize, yeah right. I just want my friend back, maybe even Zane, if what I read and saw was right," I told myself

It was like there was some timer on them, because then the fortunes in my hand went 'poof' and disappeared in grey smoke. The cookies were still there though, and they were refreshing.

I thought about what to do, and chose to go, it's not like I have much of a choice. I don't have anyone else, or likely know anyone else, unless they come. Keeping it a secret won't be much of a problem. With my mind set on that choice I sighed and I left, going back to grab a bag to make it look believable that I lived in that dimension or whatever.

"The Tournament of Elements. Chen, just what are you doing now?" I wondered that night

~~~the next day~~~
The next day I just wondered around Ninjago city until midnight came. When that happened I saw many people near the pier, the same place the fortune told everyone to meet at. It was fun because in my head I smiled knowing I knew most of these people from their parents.
I wore a black sweatshirt with my black shirt with a psychic symbol underneath. I kept my hoodie up as I stood near the others. As time passed I saw four familiar people in ninja suits walking towards the crowd.
"So they were invited too?" I wondered
I was shocked that I'd see these guys again, after all, I know them. I tried not making too much eye contact as they came closer, not like they'll recognize me anyway. I mentally counted them in my head and only counted four.
"Where's Zane? Cole, Kai, Lloyd and Jay are here except Zane. If he isn't here, then that poster was telling the truth. What did you do to him, Chen?" I questioned
Anything Chen related couldn't be trusted. When they stopped and looked around I turned towards the ocean, waiting for the boat to arrive.
"Ah, I told you we shouldn't have worn them!" I heard Kai complain
