Graduation

XYRA'S POV ✩

My mom's knock on my room door jolted me awake.

"Xyra anak? Wake up! Wake up, honey! It's your graduation day! Bumangon ka na dyan at mag shower ka na, then go to the kitchen when you're already done. Do you hear me? "

"Yes mom!" I shouted back half asleep.

"Okay honey , love you!"

"love you too, Mom!"

I immediately got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower...........

"Woooo, Omygod! ang lamig!" I shouted.

The cold water made my senses awake.

After taking a cold shower, I looked onto the mirror at sabay kanta ng "girl in the mirror".

"Shems! who's this pretty pretty girl? Hmm....maybe it's not you, it's me!" me being narcissistic, holding my breath and pretending to be shocked by such a beautiful creature that has appeared in the mirror. It somehow boosts my confidence every time I see myself presentable, at hindi naman masamang i-appreciate ang sarili paminsan-minsan.

I smiled and continued doing my morning self-care routine. After putting all my ka-artehans all over my body, I stepped out of the bathroom with a robe and went straight to the veranda not minding what I was wearing. Well, I just need some fresh air you know? at gusto ko ring makita yung sunrise. 🌅

Yes, maagang nagigising ang mga tao dito sa bahay, well what do you expect? we also sleep too early eh.

"What a beautiful day!" I murmured looking at the sun rising. Sunrise has always been my family's favorite sight, sobrang ganda kasi talaga, plus ang ganda ganda din ng view, nakatira kasi kami dito sa isang exclusive subdivision here in McKinley hills kaya kitang-kita ang kabuoang ganda ng NYC. ♡

Ang ganda rin ng view dito kapag sunset, you'll be able to witness how pretty the orange and pink-ish sky is, pero ewan ko ba kung bakit mas gusto kong titigan itong sunrise hehe. Opinion ko lang naman ito.

I walked back inside and changed my robe into a baggy pastel blue shirt and a white dolphin shorts. I straightly went downstairs, and my mouth dropped open in shock at what I saw.

Oh my God! Nandito na si daddy!

"Surprise, honey!" My dad wrapped himself like a gift. Aww I can't resist his cuteness huhu. '(*∩_∩*)′

the effort tho.

My eyes began to tear up since I didn't really expect my dad to show up for my high school graduation; he was back in the Philippines, and I had assumed that he had forgotten about it.

"Daddy!" I said with excitement and run towards him to hug him very tight.

"Happy Graduation and Congratulations, honey!"

"Thanks dad, I thought you forgot about this" I said with a little shaky voice.

"How could I miss your special celebration of success? Tsaka hindi ako papayag na ang mommy mo lang ang magsasabit sa'yo ng medalya ano?" he said and kissed my forehead, then he also kissed my mom's.

Ay ganun? Palaban din pala ang isang ito? Ayaw magpakabog kay mommy!
