REAL LIFE.
Teagan and Drew sat silently in the back of an Uber on their way to LAX. The dreaded day came and it was time for Drew to go back to South Carolina for the rest of the summer.
Both of them knew that this was going to be the last time they saw eachother for a unknown, but long time. The girl rested her head against her boyfriends shoulder, holding back her tears. Drew's hand was placed on Teagan's thigh as he rubbed it back and forth, reassuring her that everything was going to be alright.
The Uber has finally come to a stop in front of the airport. Teagan looked out the window, not wanting to get out of the car. But she had to once Drew opened her door and motioned for her to come out.
"It's going to be okay," Drew whispered, pulling the girl into a hug as he tears had finally escaped, "We'll be alright." Teagan kept her face hidden in Drew's chest as she let out quiet sobs.
"I love you," Teagan said, looking up at the boy who's hands cupped her face. He placed a kiss on her lips, but pulled away knowing that he had to board his flight very soon.
"I love you, Teagan," Drew replied as he picked up his carry on bag and hesitantly started walking away.
"Don't have too much fun without me!" Teagan called out with a small laugh. Drew turned his head around and smiled softly at the girl. She saw a tear fall from his eyes before turned around and disappeared into the airport.
The girl had finally let her emotions take over her as she sobbed out, having to balance herself on the Uber that was patiently waiting for her, "I'm so sorry for having to make you wait."
"No worries, sweetie," the older women said, "I know what it's like to go through long distance. It's hard, but I see the love that you two have for each other. You'll make it through this, I believe it."
Teagan smiled for herself at what the women had told her. She really did love Drew, and after him leaving today just made her realise how much she needs him in her life.
She had never felt this type of love for anyone ever before. It's like once she had come clean about her feelings for Drew earlier in the year, everything fell into place perfectly.
The Uber driver was about to pull away when she stepped on the break quickly as police officers ran in front of the car. Confused, Teagan watched them as they aimed their guns at a man that held a backpack outwards.
There were a few officers that were leading people away from the scene, not knowing the check for people in cars. Teagan opened the car door to follow the others, only to hear officers yelling and then soon a a large blast going off.
Her whole body, along with the car was was flying backwards as the car erupted in flames, along with the others surrounding the area, and the side of the airport.
Still conscious, Teagan struggled to stand up as she tried to get back into the car to help the Uber driver, "Fuck!" She yelled as another car erupted in flames making a loud sound.
With a ringing in her ears, Teagan couldn't get the door back open to help the Uber driver, "Ma'am! Ma'am we need you to stop and come with us!" An officer yelled, trying to get Teagan to stop. But she didn't listen and continued trying to get the lady out of the car. She was the only person that made her realise how much she needed Drew in her life, she needed to save her.
"Ma'am! We need to get you to the hospital!"
"There's someone in the car! And no one is trying to save her!" Teagan yelled back, burning her hand on the hot car door handle, "Shit."
"Teagan!" She heard someone call out. She didn't turn around and instead tired to open another door, which came swinging open the second try, "Teagan!"
Drew was the one calling out for her as he stood behind officers that were barricading others away from the fire. Drew fought and fought until finally he broke through them, running towards Teagan.
"Sir!"
"You're not allowed to pass this area!"
Drew ran up to the girl and didn't even give a second thought before he picked her up bridal style and started running back to where he was.
"No! Put me down! Why isn't anyone helping her! She's stuck in the car!" Teagan yelled, trying to fight her way out of Drew's grip, he held her tightly not letting her go.
"Sir, please follow us," a paramedic said, leading the two into a lmk ambulance. The laid Teagan on the gurney, inspecting her burn wounds and cuts from the explosion.
Drew sat down, not letting go of the girls hand as they started treating her the best the could before arriving to the hospital, "You're okay," Drew whispered when Teagan's no tired eyes fell on his.
She smiled softly and squeezed his hand before her eyes shut and the monitor on the wall started making a difference noise, "Teagan? Teagan!?" Drew yelled as he watched the paramedic's help his girlfriend that laid unconscious in front of him.
