REAL LIFE.
Drew felt sick to his stomach as the pulled up to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Once they came to a stop, the back doors swung open and the chaos started, "We have a twenty-one year old, burns from an explosion with blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen. Decreased breath sounds before losing consciousness," the paramedic went on as they rushed her into a trauma room with Drew following, not wanting to leave Teagan's side.
"Okay start her on some saline and get plastics in here," the lead doctor started ordering, other doctors started doing what he said to do. Suddenly Teagan's eyes shot open and she took a loud and deep breath.
"Teagan!" Drew yelled, trying to get to his girl but he was pushed away by more doctors.
"Sir you need to go to the waiting room. We are trying to help your girlfriend," A nurse said, grabbing ahold of Drew's arm and dragging him away. He got one last look at Teagan through the glass before tears started running down his face.
"Teagan, you were in an explosion. Do you know where you are?" The lead doctor asked, running his flashlight over the girls eyes, "Pupils responsive."
"The hospital?" She choked out, starting to have a coughing fit. She took another deep breath before realising she was struggling to breath.
Once the doctors noticed her sharp and short breathes one spoke out, "Hey we have a pneumothorax, get me chest tube!" A female doctor called out as she made a small incision in between two ribs, then shoving in a tube.
Teagan took in another deep breath as her hand grabbed the nearest object, which was a doctors arm, "I was paged," another doctor said walking into the room while putting on some gloves, "These burns don't look too bad, but I want her in the burn unit her monitoring."
As the doctors continued to work on Teagan, she sat there zoning everything out. The only thing that was ok her mind was the fact that she loved Drew so much that she couldn't be across the country from him. She wanted to see him every morning, rolling over in her bed to see him laying next to her, snoring his ass off.
"Ms. Scott, we're going to transfer you into the burn unit now," Is what Teagan heard last before drifting off to sleep.
