Ability

CHAPTER 3: TO THE CAPITOL (PART 1)

Many regrets and anxiety flooded my mind, "Did she really leave, why didn't I get here earlier". I kept repeating over and over to myself fearing I would have missed my opportunity to go on an amazing adventure with my best friend.

"So you decided to come".

I turned around and saw Cassie folding her arms and looking at me like if she had already predicted that I was going to come. I rush towards her and gave her a huge hug, I wanted to feel the warmth of her.

"Why are you hugging me dummy, we saw each other this morning", she said looking away trying to act cool. "Are you ready to go best mate", I said with my hands reached out. Blinky jumped out of the bag after smelling Cassie and leaped on her face and started licking and playing with her. While they were on the ground,  I had finally looked at her outfit, she was wearing her little pouch, a black vest, long pants with a rip at the side, and the necklace I made for her 12th birthday. "You kept my gift from when you were 12", I said with awe. "Let's just hurry to the Capitol, we have to get there in the about 3 days", she said trying to divert the question.

Night fell on us but Cassie insisted to keep walking. "Can we stop and get some rest *huff* my feet is on fire", I said trying to catch my breath. "Why are you so wimpy Kevin?", she asked with no remorse. "Pleaseeeeeee!", I begged holding on to her feet. "Ughhh, You win Kevin, YOU WIN!", she shouted with frustration.

We got a spot to rest for the night to continue our trip to the Capitol in the morning.

"I gather the stick Cassie *drop*", I said aggravated because I was doing all the work while she laid there doing nothing. "Good boy, Kevin...", she said smiling at me. "I'll handle it from here". She stood up and began storing potential from around her and packed it into her body, she began glowing like a fire-fly. "Sherisa, give thee your power of igniting", she muttered gracefully and unleashed the potential towards the bundle of sticks.(it was beautiful)

Everybody thinks Cassie has the ability of fire but she has is so much more than that. Her mother was one of the Shorigin captains and she had the power of Ignition, where she gather potential and uses it to act as different forms of fire, so she can either use to heal bruises, make simple fire from sticks or cause a massive explosion which when I say it out loud is pretty scary. She also is a mean cook like her father. 

"When are you gonna teach me to do that Cassie", I said with an innocent pout. "You can't even gather potential yet Kevin", she said laughing silently. "I actually know a way where I can fight", I said trying to prove a point. She got up and asked, "How Kevin, have you been doing secret training ". I went into my bag and Blinky jumped out scared and ran towards Cassie. "Traitor", I muttered under my breath. "Where...is it, oh, there it is...", I said. "Feast your eyes on this, I've been working on this for about a year now". Cassie looked at my bladeless sword and both Cassie and Blinky started to laugh at me (Cassie taught him to make fun of me) " So you're planning to fight with a sword with no blade", she said continuing to taunt me. "I know you would say that Cassie so...", I took out my bag of crystals and got a red one out and pressed it into a mold in the sword. *SHING* A bright red energy sword appeared causing the entire surrounding to turn red from the bright glow. "What do you have to say now Cassie", I said with a grin of victory on my face. Cassie and Blinky were in awe as I held my Cryso-Destruction (the awesome name I gave it) in my hands. 

I took out the crystal and packed away everything back safely.

 "You never give up Kevin, that's what I like about you", she said looking up at the stars. "I try to be like you...", I replied,"...I've always looked up to you and how you always...". *LOUD SNORE*

*A lone tear slid down Cassie's face as she faked snoring*

"Good night Cassie and Blinky", I said looking up at the sky

"Snkrrrr!", Blinky said.
