I woke up to the sunlight brightening my room, stabbing my eyes. I groaned, I hadn't gotten enough sleep for days, but the sun couldn't care less. I shut the curtains of the windows aggressively. If only I had superpowers to control sunlight or something.
"It's not the sun's fault," Aiden stated.
Aiden is my roommate, my bestfriend, my whatever-you-call-it. He has been by my side since I can't remember. I have always told stories about him to my parents. My parents believed in all of the stories, or so they told me they did. They always told me that I had a very imaginative mind. They told me how loyal I was to my imaginations, how I had believed in the things I imagined, or in other words, Aiden. I have always tried convincing them that he is real but to no avail. I was always made fun of in school because of my 'imagination' but I shrug it off to this day.
Aiden was the same age as me, but he had the face of an angel. He had always helped me make the right choices and was always smarter and wiser.
"Of course it is, whose fault is it if it's not the sun's?" I questioned him. I hope he wouldn't put the blame on the many things I do at night.
"Yours of course, for making the smartest decision to read your books, watch movies, and use your phone for the entire night all the way to the wee hours of the morning," he answered sarcastically, with a sweet smile plastered across his face.
I grabbed my pillow and threw it in his direction. The pillow hits his face and he stumbled to floor. I chuckled as he groaned.
"What was that for? I was only speaking the truth," he asked, getting back on his feet.
"Oops, I guess I was hugging it but it slipped off my hands," I replied innocently.
"And it flew to my face? I don't think so," he said, his eyes had a glint of mischief and he wore a sinister smile. He grabbed the pillow on the floor and threw it back at me, hitting my face the way it hit his.
I was about to throw the pillow at him again when he said," Ok, come on Carina, you have a big day today, get showered or something, you kinda stink," Aiden said to me, pointing his finger towards the toilet.
I squinted my eyes at him and mouthed 'oh really?'. I grabbed my towel and walked towards him. He looked at me, wondering what I would do next. I opened my mouth and let out my bad breath at him.
"Oh my God! Get in the freaking toilet right now! I'll pick your clothes out, just get in the toilet!" He yelled in disgust. I chuckled and thanked him.
