It had been an hour. A whole hour since they were supposed be here. I had missed breakfast. I missed the group activity and all because I was waiting for my ‘friends’.
They’re not coming.” Louis muttered. He sat on the chair glumly looking down at his feet. I still didn’t understand how he could touch objects but he isn’t able to touch me. I asked him so many times but he never knew the answer. It was probably more difficult for him than it was for me since he was the one who was dead but it was agony for me. Everyday I’d wake up in this hospital, put here because I can see him and others can’t. “Haz, did you hear me? Let’s just go. I should’ve known they wouldn’t come. The last time they were here it was like they were counting the seconds until they could leave. They don’t like it here. They don’t like us anymore.
Suddenly something inside me snapped. My head sharply turned in his direction.
“No Lou, they still like me!” I said coldly. “They don’t like you. They look at me strange when I talk to you! They can’t see you and they think I’m crazy because they don’t understand. If you didn’t come back I’d be…”
Louis faded away, hurt by my words. He always did this when he got upset but it was never for long.
“Haz?” A voice called.

I looked up to see Niall standing awkwardly by the door. He gave a little wave before he approached.
“Ni?” I ran up to him, embracing him in a tight hug. Tears escaped from my eyes but I hid them by burying my face into his shoulder. “I thought you weren’t coming.” I bawled.
“Hey, come on Haz.” Niall pulled me back and looked at me straight in the eye. “I promised and you know I keep my promises.”
“Where is everyone else?”
“I heard you talking to someone. Was it Louis?” Niall said changing the subject. He was probably the only one of the guys who actually believed me when I said that I could see Louis.
“Yeah but he…left.”
“Left?” Niall said curiously.
“We kind of got in an argument. He kept saying that you weren’t coming and he said that you guys hated us.” I explained. “But you guys don’t hate us do you?”
I don’t hate you, Haz and I don’t hate Lou either.”
I looked around hoping Louis had reappeared to hear that but to no avail he wasn’t there. “Come see my room."

Louis re-appeared a couple of minutes after Niall and I had gotten to my room. I had been talking to Niall nonstop and he seemed happy to talk to me but when Louis appeared I shut my mouth instantly. I was upset with him and I knew he was still a bit upset with me.
“What’s wrong, Haz?” Niall asked concerned. I hung my head low and pointed to Louis. Niall stared at the space where Louis stood and Louis glared back at him.
“Is Louis here?” Niall kept staring at the space, slightly squinting as if the image of Louis would suddenly popup. I wish.
Wow, smart question, dipshit.” Louis spat.
“Louis, leave him alone.” I warned. I hated when he got all bitchy. “Don’t involve Niall in this.”
“Harry, what’s happening?” Niall looked a bit scared. He knew that Louis had problems with him.
“Louis is just being a dick again.” I muttered under my breath.
I heard that.” Louis said. He approached me in a rage, his eyes bloodshot and tears were running down his cheeks. “If you really don’t want me around then fine I can leave, Haz. Is that what you want?” His face went to a dangerous crimson as he screamed at me.
“I…I…” It wasn’t what I wanted but seeing Louis this upset about something I didn’t mean had me at a loss for words.
“Harry, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Niall asked. Was I crying? I couldn’t even tell.
“I-I…I don’t want you to leave, Louis. Please.”

I so badly wanted to hold onto him and never let go, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even hold his hand.
“I know you meant what you said and I know it is true if I hadn’t come into your life you wouldn’t be here right now.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t be here right now because I’d be dead. I would have died for you, Lou because I wanted…no I needed to be with you because you fucking left me!” I screamed. I could see Niall slightly scoot away from me. I would too if I saw someone screaming at themselves.
“Harry, calm down. Tell me what Louis is saying.” Niall said strongly.
“He wants to leave me.” I bawled. I kneeled down on the floor and started begging. “Please, don’t leave me. Please, I can’t do this without you.”
Harry, get up.” Louis said softly but I didn’t get up. I stayed right where I was – on my knees until Louis crouched down in front of me. His hand brushed my cheek and if I closed my eyes and thought really hard I could remember what his touch felt like.
I won’t leave you, Haz. I’ll be with you forever.”
“You promise?”
I promise.”
