Kie had eventually convinced us all that it would be a good idea to take this to the coast guard; maybe we would get a finders fee.
So, now we were outside of the coast guard building. Dumb and dumber (John B & JJ) were inside trying to explain what we had found.

"You made your move with JJ yet?" Pope turned to me.
"What?" The smile on my face probably gave it away. it was no secret that we did; in fact, have feelings for each other. I don't know why Pope was asking because he knew that I would never break the rule.
"JJ, the dumb boy?" Kie had joined in on the conversation now.

"I don't have a reason to make a move on JJ." I stated, deciding that playing dumb was the best idea in this situation.
"His in love with you, grace," Pope said.
"No!" It's like we were children, but something about the blonde-haired; bruised boy made me feel like a child again. Maybe it was the sheer amount of happiness he had brought to my heart since we had known each other, or maybe it was because we always did childish and dangerous shit when we were together.

While Pope and I continued to go back and forth with each other with the classic 'yes' and 'no', JJ and John B had returned from inside the building.

"Well, that went well." John B said, a defeated look on his face.
"Clearly. So, what's the plan?" I asked.
"I think I know how we're gonna find the guy that owns the boat." He continued.

━━

John B's plan wasn't really all that brilliant. JJ looked at him like he was a fucking mastermind for coming up with this plan but anyone with a normally functioning brain knew that it was terrible and probably wouldn't work.
His plan was to get to the hotel and just break-in.
"That's breaking and entering of some kind, is it not?" I had said.
"No, because we have a key." JJ had replied.

And that's why we were here, at the random motel.
"I thought the chateau looked bad," JJ stated, looking around at the destruction that Agatha had caused.
"This is awful," I said. My heart broke, not just for the owners of the hotel but for anyone who had been affected by Agatha.
"This place is a shit show." John B continued.
"Motel or meth lap?" Kie asked us all.
"Both, probably." I replied.

"This doesn't really look like a place somebody with a Grady white would stay." John B stated, looking around.
"It looks like a place somebody with a Grady white would get killed." JJ replied.

It had been decided that JJ and John B were going to go in. I thought that was a particularly bad idea; the three people with brains that actually worked had been left behind.
The two idiots had gone; after Kie had made her point that she wanted them to stay safe and i don't think she had noticed that i noticed she had been growing particularly fond of John B lately.

"I don't know why we always get left behind." I sighed.
"Because we are smart, and know that following behind them would be a bad idea," Pope spoke.
"But those two are basically children," I stated.

The conversation had drifted over to what our biggest pet peeves were.
"Probably, when someone doesn't admit that they need help. I mean, I know it's not easy but when someone wants to be there for you and help you, shouldn't you let them?" I said.
Kie's was of course, 'only giving 1% to the environment.' Kie had started on another environment rant and I had chosen to ignore it. I looked around at the surroundings once again and had noticed that two police officers were now here.

"Guys, cops!" I got the attention of Kie and Pope.
"Shit, uh, call them." Pope worried.
"Towers are down," I explained.

"If I lose my merit scholarship, I'm gonna kill someone." Pope sighed, worried about his future.
"Pope, calm down. You aren't going to lose it." I tried to reason with him.
"Maybe the police aren't going up there. You know, maybe there are just looking for a room." Pope said; I think that maybe he was just trying to stay positive and distract himself. I did love his enthusiasm but I had a gut feeling that he was wrong.
