I used to see colours,
Decorated with ornaments,
Blooming and singing melodies it was lovely,
Until I discovered you.

Hiding in an odd corner,
A corner that was completely colourless,
I approached towards you,
You say your lonely and asked for company,

Fear rippled through me,
But being so tender I didn't deny,
And I kept my word,
But little did I know that you had an evil mind.

Being your friend was memorable,
But only for a while,
When I saw a dark patch in the pastel sky,
I realised I was right since the starting,

And the patch seemed to grow,
The more I spent time with you,
It was time I told myself,
Regretting, I started building walls,
Hoping, the patch would go.

But in vain did I try,
It never went,
For now, the pastel sky turned grey,
And back to pastel when the time came.

But crepuscule ruled the majority,
It seemed I had no choice,
But to accept the patch
As a part of me.

I didn't see you then,
But the patch never went,
When one day I stood under the crepuscule,
And called out to you.

Hello! Darkness my old friend,
Wouldn't you want to say hi?
For days, I've waited for you,
But, you never came again.

I heard no sounds,
Not even a whisper,
Standing under the crepuscule again,
Soon the song turned to a prayer.

For years and years,
I kept repeating the 'prayer' again,
Then one day,
I heard you say.

Hello! Dear old friend,
I have caused you misery,
I have made your ways look murky,
And yet you sing every day for me.

To which I reply,
Hello! Darkness my old friend,
You had accepted me as a foe,
But I accepted you as a friend.

And hence it's your duty,
To listen to me,
To never leave my side,
And help me like a true friend.

Oh! dear old friend,
You came out tougher than I thought,
Tell me what you want,
And I shall keep my word.

Then you shall be my slave,
And we shall go together,
On this mystifying roller coaster,
No one could ever survive.

And true to his words,
He kept by her side,
And so was the story,
Of The Uninvited Guest and Pride.

Okay...I know I'm not that great in writing poems but I gave this a try...suggestions accepted. TBH I really need your help in this.

Also can you think of another word for 'patch' that would be suitable for this poem/song? THANK YOU FOR THE SAME.

Hope you guys liked it and enjoyed??
