It was near Takagi's birthday, and Nishikata didn't know what to get her. He once again consulted Nakai, who said about how he and Mano just got a dog, and she was really happy. Nishikata looked into dogs and realised they were quite expensive. Then he saw that Hamaguchi had also sent texts to his friends saying his dog accidentally bred with his next door neighbours' dog. Nishikata texted him a bit to make sure they were healthy, since they weren't an official breeding result. It turns out they were mostly healthy so Nishikata took one off of his hands, thanking Hamaguchi. When Takagi's birthday rolled around, she woke up to Nishikata holding a barking, jittery box. She said,
TAKAGI: "No way! Nishikata, this is amazing! Thank you so much. What's her name?"
NISHIKATA: "Well, I thought you could name her."
TAKAGI: "(Best day ever! What should I call her though?) "I know, I'll call you... Chi."
NISHIKATA: "That's a great name, Happy birthday Takagi!"
TAKAGI: "Thank you! I love you."
NISHIKATA: *blushes* "I love you too."
