Chapter 11

I wake up tangled in sheets and feel around the bed for Joe but he isn't on the bed.

"Joe?" I call quietly, unsure of the time so I reach for my clutch bag and get out my phone. 4AM.

I sit up with a pounding headache and slowly get to my feet and put on Joes shirt. Where is he?

I peek into Caspar's room to find Avia asleep next to Caspar. Hmmm she will be getting questioned in the morning! I walk upstairs to still no Joe. I quickly research the apartment and start to panic, shit where is he?

I head downstairs into Caspar's room and nudge his shoulder, he stirs and looks up at me.

"Grace? What do you want, are you okay?" He asks in a deep voice.

I shake my head. "I don't know where Joe is".

"Relax he's probably just gone on a run, he normally does that, don't worry" he replies and turns over to face Avias back.

I walk out Caspar's room. Yeah he's probably right, but I'll just call him in case. I head back into Joe's room and pick up my phone while closing the door. I dial.

A girls voice comes through the phone.

"Hello?" She asks in a recognisable voice.

"Uh who's this?" I ask confused. I quickly check the number I'm calling to see if I've dialled the right number...yep.

"It's Sarah who's this?" I recognise the voice straight away now...Sarah.

"Why the fuck do you have Joe's phone?" I ask loosing my temper but trying to keep my voice down.

"Because he's sleeping around mine silly" she answers giggling. "Oh didn't he tell you he was coming to mine? Well I've gotta go incase I wake him" she whispers.

-phone call ended-

I stare forward as what she's just said processes. Joe. Sneaking out. To sleep with Sarah? I feel sick. I run to the toilet just in time as yesterday's food comes up and into the toilet. I cry into the toilet as I feel my heart breaking, how could he do something like this to me?!

I wipe and wash out my mouth and go back into the bedroom and pull off Joe's top like it is hurting me. It does...it's hurting my heart keeping his top on! I pull on last nights dress and quietly walk into Caspar's room and tap Avia on the foot. She looks up and to the end of the bed.

"What Grace?" She mouths.

"I need you to take me home" I mouth back, tears slowly falling down my cheeks. She nods.

I walk away back into Joes room to collect my things. I pick up a picture frame of me and Joe back when me, him and Caspar went go karting and let my tears fall onto it. I put it with the rest of my things and leave.

I walk back out of the room to find Avia waiting for me.

"Are you ready to go? I've just quickly called us a taxi" she whispers. I nod sadly. She pulls me into a hug.

"Tell me what happened?" She whispers. I just nod and tell her about the phone call, she just nods and offers me a hug because she don't know what to say. What can she say? We walk upstairs and head out the door.

"What's that?" She asks, pointing at the photo of me and Joe. I pick it up off my small pile of clothes and show her.

"You shouldn't keep that Grace, your just going to hurt yourself more with reminders" she says gently as she strokes my arm. I nod. I look up and out of nowhere drop the clothes, pull my arm back and throw the frame at the apartment door it smashes into hundreds of tiny little pieces.
