DESIREE LAURENT WAS A KOOK The French girl of the Outer Banks. Everyone wanted to be her friend, especially the girls, willing to bribe her with money to teach them the language they ached to learn. They wanted to impress the boys and their parents with French speaking skills, but Desiree never gave them the satisfaction. She moved to the north side of the island two years ago after constantly moving across France. She ignored all the rich people who were willing to be her friends, thinking they're just ignorant assholes who will do nothing but betray her. So while exploring her new home two years ago, she stumbled into a group of kids her age running from security guards and decided to join in. They fell in love with each other immediately.
