Hannah's POV:
It felt like I was on the phone to the call operator forever, I was just thinking 'come on, please hurry up, I don't want to lose one of my closest friends.' When the paramedics arrived, I led them up the stairs to Lizzie's bedroom where I could hear the subtle sound of the Bee Gees playing in the background as I took another glimpse at Lizzie as the paramedics unpacked their defibrillator machine whilst one of them bandaged up Lizzie's wounds. I watched as Ed stepped away from Lizzie's near lifeless figure to allow the paramedics to take over.Joel's POV:
The next ten minutes or so were incredibly intense. We'd all done our best to save her but now it was out of our hands and down to the professionals. Nervously, I latched onto Hannah, the four of us all now crying; I pressed my head onto her chest because I couldn't bare to look at my friend in so much pain and all the equipment around her and she was so scared, that I could hear her heart beating. I reached for her other hand and gripped onto it tighter than I ever have before and just let the tears roll down my face.Charlie's POV:
Ed and I stood clutching hands on the opposite side of the bed to Joel and Hannah as we watched the paramedics desperately try to revive our friend. With every chest compression, I hoped for the best but still nothing. I've believed in Lizzie ever since I first met her, I can't stop believing now. I took a few deep breathes to try and calm down and it was on the third exhale that we finally saw something happen. I watched on, still tightly squeezing Charlie's hand, as Lizzie began to breathe again; a huge sense of relief filled my entire body and I finally felt able to lift up my head and look around the room again.Joel's POV:
It was now a few minutes after 4am, I was tired but sleep was not my priority, I needed to know my friend was actually going to be okay. Lizzie laid there on the bed, staring at the ceiling and the light that was still on - struggling to look any of us in the eye. 'It's not your fault.' She mumbled, almost inaudibly before turning her head to face me and granting me permission to hold her hand. 'Don't cry.' She instructed as I noticed her eyes were welling up with tears. 'We need to get going now, who's going to come in the ambulance with her?' Asked the paramedic. 'I will.' I replied confidently.
