"It's starting!"

Both teams stood on their respective side of the court as they awaited the first serve to start off the game. Daichi stood behind the line, preparing himself for his serve.

"Daichi, nice serve!" Karasuno shouted as the whistle blew, forcing their captain to hit the ball.

The game was off to an iffy start, seeing as Ushijima's spikes were hard to get used to. Since the male was left-handed, the entire team has to readjust how they played to counter his attacks.

While they were too focused on Ushijima, they failed to notice the other teammates who were stealing points when Karasuno's attention was diverted.

"It must suck to go against a guy who's left-handed." Takumi said with a small grimace as Ushijima slammed the ball into the other side of the court.

"So it sucks to go against me?" Masayuki said with a small huff, turning away from Takumi.

Nao shook his head, "Tsk. You're such an ass, Takumi."

"What?! Yuki, you know I don't mean you. You're a left-handed god, okay?!" Takumi reassured, growing worried for a moment. Akihiro snickered, glancing up from his phone.

"Takumi, you dumb fuck. Masayuki's not left-handed. It was a joke."

"Okay, you guys the asses now."

Turning their attention back to the TV, they watched as the familiar blond attempt to block Ushijima. For once, he had actually got the timing and positioning right, so he was directly in front of Ushijima's dominant arm.

"That loser ran away." Akihiro muttered as he watched Ushijima spike the ball through Tsukishima's fingers. "Lame~ Change the fucking channel."

"Shut up, Akihiro." Kichiro muttered, hitting the male in the face with a pillow. The third year male leaned forward, refocusing his attention on the screen.

Things were getting intense for the Karasuno males who were still trying to get their shit together. Though, things began looking up when Nishinoya was able to properly receive Ushijima's hits.

Towards the end of their second set, thing starts getting tense for the Takahano boys who sat in Makoto's living room. Seeing Shiratorizawa and Karasuno reach a deuce, they were nervous.

"There's, like, three more sets after thing. Why am I sweating bricks?" Nao said as he wiped his forehead, chewing on his bottom lip worriedly.

As the sets went on, Shiratorizawa's composure began to crumble under the pressure Karasuno applied. The chance Tsukishima was waiting for had finally arrived.

His honey colored eyes zoomed in on the ball, taking it the perfect position to block the spike that Ushijima and Shirabu played right into his hands.

For a mere second, Makoto flashed into his mind.

"You probably think you can't block for shit. I'll bet you still think you can't block a guy bigger than you, like Ushijima." Makoto said, making the blond slightly raise his eyebrows in surprise. He didn't know Makoto knew of his internal concerns since he never mentioned them. "But I seriously believe in you. You're a literal genius, alright! I'll be watching you guys on the TV, so,"

Makoto gently tapped his chest with a closed fist, beaming confidently at him.

"Make me proud, alright?"

When the ball perfectly bounced off his hand, slamming into Shiratorizawa's side of the court, everyone went silent.

Within moments, cheers erupted in the gymnasium. To think that Tsukishima finally blocked Ushijima, it set everyone's heart ablaze.

When the blond clenched his fists, pulling his arms into his side as he let out an aubdible yell of pure excitement. This shout elicited a scream out of his team, friends and family.

Throughout the crowd of distorted cheers, Tsukishima could've sworn he heard Makoto's voice.

"Kei!"

As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was really beginning to miss her annoyingly angelic voice calling his name everyday. The bright smile that would spread across her cheeks when she saw him was always a sight to see. An ephemeral thought flashed in his mind as he searched the crowd with his eyes. I wish she was here.

"KEI!"

The scream sent chills down his spine, making his head snap in the direction of the voice. His eyes widened when he saw her in the stands.

"I knew you could do it! Nice, Kei!" Makoto leaned over the railings, yelling loudly to the male who stood in the middle of the court, dumbfounded. "Keep it up!"

"Makoto?!?" Hinata shouted as he set his eyes on his sister. He rubbed his eyes, wondering if this was a figment of his imagination. It wasn't.

"Karasuno fight-o!!" She cheered loudly, beaming down at the males who gazed up at her with fire in their eyes.

The sight of Makoto standing in the cheering section with her head held high and her hands higher, it lifted everyone up. Their biggest fan had returned.

Tsukishima stood in the center of the court, peering up at Makoto who was busy cheering. Their eyes connected for a moment, erupting butterflies in his stomach as he swallowed thickly.

Mellowing down a bit, her expression melted into a look that Tsukishima couldn't seem to decipher in the heat of the moment. Raising an arm, she waved at him softly while flashing him the same bright smile he had been subconsciously yearning to see.

As opposed to her volume before, she said something inaudibly, making the blond have to read her lips.

"I'm really proud of you."

She mouthed, chuckling softly when she saw the stunned look that crossed Tsukishima's face.

Glancing down, the blond grit his teeth as he tried to push aside the negative feelings in his chest. He wanted to embrace the positive feelings for once.

Glancing back up to meet her eyes, he forced the silent words out of his body.

There was a small silence between Makoto and Tsukishima despite the loud cheering around them.

His heart pounded, wondering if she understood what he had said to her.

"Huh?"

Nevermind, I forgot she's a dumbass like her brother. Tsukishima thought as he rolled his eyes, turning away from the female who cocked her head to the side in confusion.

"What was that?"
