Logan had an idea as to where he should go to get extra supplies. He and Casper had plenty for now, especially when it came to food, but that wouldn't last forever. The sooner they started scavenging, the more likely they were to find something good. The first thing that he knew that they'd need was medical supplies, so he headed in the direction of the nearest pharmacy.
The problem was, the streets weren't quite as empty as the ones he'd walked the day before. They were actually quite crowded. Not with people, though. With the dead. Pale, greenish, grotesque figures lunged at him from every direction. Luckily for him, he'd brought his gun, and a pocket full of bullets. He was careful only to shoot the ones that were direct dangers to him, though. The last thing he needed was to run out of bullets and have one of these things sink its misshapen teeth into his neck. They were a lot faster than he imagined they would be and eventually he took to running, his loaded gun clutched tightly in his grip in case one of these creatures grabbed him. The problem with the gun was, although it was light, it was LOUD. If he fired it, it alerted every creature in the area of his whereabouts, and they all attempted to run at him at once, making the situation overall more dangerous. He made a mental note to bring the bat next time. The axe was probably more efficient, but he felt more comforted knowing that Casper had that, so he would be safe if he were to come across anything.
When he reached the pharmacy, he sat down outside, gasping for breath. He really needed to get in shape. There was just one lone creature in the street, and it's ankle was trapped in a drain, so Logan was relatively safe. He quickly pulled out his walkie talkie to speak to Casper before he went in.
"Hey Casper. I'm at the pharmacy, do you want anything? How are you? Is everything okay back there?"
He responded almost instantly.
"Logan? Are you okay? Why are you out of breath? Did you have to run from something?"
"Yeah, those things are fast so I ran here. I'm okay, though. Are you? Do you want anything?"
"You saw them? Are they as terrifying as they looked on the news?"
"Worse. Can you answer my questions, please?"
"Everything's okay here, I think. I haven't left the drama studio yet. I'm kinda scared of the dark, and I don't really like being alone. Is there anything you want me to do? I'll get up if you want me too."
Logan smiled slightly and shook his head. He was weirdly protective of this guy already. He wanted him to feel safe.
"No, just stay where you feel safest. I'll be back soon. You know how to reach me if you need to. Want anything while I'm here?"
"Nope, I'm all good."
"Okay. See you when I get back."
As he began putting the walkie talkie back in his pocket, he heard Casper speak again, urgently.
"Wait, Logan!"
He was alarmed, and responded as fast as he could.
"Yes?"
Casper spoke again, almost in a whisper.
"Stay safe."
Logan smiled slightly at the message and quickly whispered a response.
"I will."
Logan walked into the pharmacy, setting off a noise from a bell as he opened the door. He quickly scanned the room. Most things were still in place on the shelves. Perfect. He leaned over the counter and grabbed a handful of plastic bags to fill with supplies. He didn't know anything about medicine, so he was planning on just throwing in anything and everything he could. However, as he turned back towards the medicine shelves, he heard something clatter to the floor. He turned again to check if he'd knocked something over behind the counter. What he didn't expect was to see a gun, pointed at his head and probably loaded.
