The next morning, Logan woke up first, as usual. The problem being, he couldn't wake everyone else up because Casper was still clinging to him. He couldn't bring himself to wake him up. He just looked so calm and peaceful, and everyone had a rough day yesterday. They deserved a break. Logan ran his hand idly through Casper's hair and slowly fell back asleep.
When he woke up again, it was much later. Cece and Cassie were already awake and talking. He would've just stayed there, but then he remembered that Violet was still locked in a closet, and it probably wasn't fair to just leave her there. He tried to escape Casper's grip without waking him, but he was unsuccessful. Eventually, he shook Casper gently. His eyes opened and he looked up at Logan before jumping back slightly.
"Good morning, Logan! Did you sleep well? Sorry if I was a bit clingy, I can't really help it."
Logan smiled at him reassuringly.
"It's fine. I slept really well. Maybe you should wake Audrey, she's due to be fed."
Casper smiled and quickly dashed back to his bed to wake his cat while Logan got up and walked through to the closet where they'd left Violet. It was still locked. He knocked on the door.
"Violet? You still in there?"
"Yeah, obviously. You locked me in. Where else would I be?"
She sounded mad, which was fair enough. She had been locked in there for way longer than expected. Logan quickly unlocked the door and let her out.
"How long am I gonna have to sleep in there?" she asked.
"Until the entire group trusts you," Logan responded. "I don't know how long it'll be, though. Cassie should be easy enough to win over, and I know you're too smart to betray us again, but Cece and Casper are really loyal. They'd do anything to save their friends, and you did hold a gun to my head. So, yeah, you might be sleeping in there for a while."
"Wow. That's the last time I hold a gun to your head," she smiled.
They both laughed and walked into the kitchen, where Cassie was giving everyone breakfast. They all turned their eyes to the door as Violet entered. Cassie gave a welcoming smile, Cece looked away and Casper glared at her. If looks could kill, she'd be a dead woman.
"Why the fuck are you still here?" Casper said, jumping off the counter. For some reason, Casper seemed to be physically incapable of just sitting on a chair like a normal person.
"Logan invited me to join the group," Violet told him.
Casper turned to Logan, who nodded at him. He then looked back at Violet, still glaring.
"Okay, fine. If Logan wants you here, you can stay. But let me get one thing straight. I don't like you. You literally held a gun to my friend's head. I'm not forgiving you for that. Just because you're here doesn't mean I have to talk to you, like you, or be around you. So I'll stay out of your way and you stay out of mine. Also, if you ever even threaten to hurt any of my friends again, I will kill you. Got it?"
Casper was surprisingly intimidating when he wanted to be. It was almost impressive. Violet nodded, grabbed some food and left the room to explore her new home. There was way too much tension in the room. Everyone needed a way to relax, and Logan had an idea.
"Cece, grab your gun, we're going out."
"Why?" she asked, obviously suspicious.
"Because I need something. Hurry up and grab your gun. Please?"
"Fine. But you'd better explain on the way," she said, running back to her bed where she'd stashed the gun.
"Can I come too?" Casper asked, clearly nervous about the idea of being left out.
