Chapter 6

SinB's POV

  Today was the day where we would raid the dungeon. Each team would go to different parts of the dungeon and our goal was to find the boss room. We took a trip to Jeju Island and we were briefed about the dungeon itself before going in.

  "Magic Academy. Since this is the first time we are adventuring into the dungeon, please be mindful of your surroundings. We have learnt all characteristics of a dungeon through the textbooks so put your knowledge into use. The teacher will be guiding you so follow them. Once you sense danger please run away. Teachers please notify us through the 2 way radio. Lastly, let's try our best to defeat the boss in the dungeon. If we sense anything abnormal about the dungeon we will escape the dungeon and plan our next attack. Any another questions? If not let's start."

All of us dispersed into our own groups and we were the 2nd group to go in.

"Hey! My name is Dahyun. I'm a B ranked student and I'm level 5."

A tofu looking girl tapped my shoulder. She was gorgeous. Pale milky white skin, alluring eyes, beautiful smile and most importantly, she has humour.

"Hi. I'm SinB. A E ranker and level 1." I said softly as I hung my head low.

"You seem like a nice dude. Lets get along well. Levels and ranks doesn't define a person now does it?" She said before giving a slight smile.

Other than Umji, this was the first time anybody had not judge me. It felt amazing. I slowly raise my head before nodding it enthusiastically.

"Yes! Lets get along!" I said grabbing her hand to shake it.

"You guys done with your flirting? It's our turn." Yerin said with a blank look.

What's with her problem? I let go off Dahyun's hand and walked side by side with her.

Yerin's POV

What is with her problem? Flirting in front of me? In front of my salad? I wanted to walk beside her but guess what? She went along with the weak tofu girl. I can protect her, better than the tofu girl that's for sure. Why didn't she stick with me?(A.n. It was because you were mean to her)A S ranker is better than a B ranker. Whatever. Humph!

I went with Eunseo since my weird alien friend was with another weird alien student(Umji). Eunseo tried to make some small talk when we were in the dungeon but she was immediately shut down by me telling her to focus.

"Guys...the path is split into 3 paths. I wasn't aware about it. What should we do?" Ms Kim said turning back looking at us.

What? I wanted to fight not turn back so early. Oh gosh...

SinB's POV

Using my senses I picked out something unsettling about this place. It sounded and looked like...there were creatures lurking in the dark. We were like the preys while they were the predators watching each and every of our movements. Here they come closer and closer to our location.

"Guys monsters in the middle path. About 1000 chimera ants coming. 10 seconds countdown." I shouted getting ready my SMG.

"10..."

"9..."

"8..."

...

"SinB come here! I'll protect you!" I turned around looking at Dahyun.

I was about to join her when Yerin shouted,

"Dahyun, you are just a level 5. I should be the one protecting SinB!"

Oh gosh here we go again...

"Stop fighting. 3 seconds left. At this point I will stick with Ms Kim. Yerin protect Dahyun and Eunseo. Yuju protect my sister. If you fail to do so, I will kill you Yuju." I said running towards Ms Kim.

"Unnie. As usual." She nodded and there they come.

I stood side by side giving Ms Kim support from behind. I took the left while she took the right. A good 50 plus of chimera ants came my way and I raised my SMG aiming my crosshair at their heads before popping them off like cork bottles. Everybody were screaming out their battle cries while Ms Kim and I did our job silently. Except the sounds of us slashing through the wind and my gun fires. It took a good 30 minutes before there were only blood splatters everywhere and chimera ant parts dissected on the ground. We all slumped on ground exhausted.

"Ms Kim...SinB huh...since when were your coordination soo good?" Eunseo asked while panting. She mostly assist Yerin and Dahyun only.

"Err...SinB and I-"

"Unnie...don't"

"Unnie? UNNIE? Wait what?" Yuju exclaimed immediately jumping up. Wow she still has soo much strength is she not tired?

"SinB you can't hide it anymore..."

"Umji you know I would let it out. I revealed way too much already..."

"SinB. Umji is right. Just do it."

"Unnie...okay fine...I will only reveal it...when we make out of this dungeon alive."

Then all of us were silent. I took this chance to reach for my back pack and took out the blueprint given by the grandmother. I analysed it for 3 minutes before saying out loud,

"We have to take the right path and then turn right into a room with 3 C class guards. After defeating it we have to find a key that open the boss room. After that we go left heading towards the giant millipede, a B rank and if we manage to survive it. We reach the boss room."

"Where did you get that from?" Umji asked.

"The grandmother." I replied earning a nod both Ms Kim and Umji.

"What grandmother? Wait Ms Kim and Umji knows her?" Yerin asked. Once again the two nodded.

"How do you understand this? It is confusing." Dahyun said before taking the blueprint and showed the rest.

"Wahh...this is intricate it is like...a maze." Eunseo said out loud.

"Not a maze but a labyrinth." I said.

"What is the difference?" Yerin said tilting her head towards the side.

"Maze has many different paths with some leading to dead ends. While a labyrinth doesn't have a dead end. It only has one path compared to a maze." I explained.

"But this look like a maze... See here has 3 paths. Soo isn't it a maze?" Yuju asked.

"There is only one path. The other 2 might seem like paths but they are just an illusion to the human eyes. You think they are paths but actually they are lairs for the monsters. Basically those are death traps."

"I see..." Yuju said before nodding her head.

Yerin's POV

How did SinB know all these? Who is the grandmother? She is like a puzzle box. I can't figure her out. She is truly a mystery like her name.
