Chapter 7

SinB's POV

  After being inside the dungeon for about 5 hours we have reached the boss room. We contacted the head and we all gathered around outside the boss room. We had another briefing before we went in. When we step into the boss room, one by one blue flames started to lit up the room. In the middle stood an almighty balrog, A ranked boss. It wasn't an easy fight considering that all the B ranks and above were tired as they had their fair share of fights and protecting those that weren't capable to fight. The supporters summon their defence circles while some others were busy healing each others injuries. Soon after a tiring 1 hour we have finally defeated the boss. When we all thought it was over we were about to exit the boss room when somebody shouted,

  "GUYS THE BOSS ROOM DID NOT OPEN!"

  Everybody went into panic mode seeing that there was a possibility we might have not defeated the boss. Since I was at the front role. I walked towards the balrog to examine it.

  "SinB michyeosseo?(SinB are you crazy?) What are you doing?" Ms Kim grabbed my arm shouting at me.

  "Unnie relax. I got this under control."

  She then let go of me and I slowly went over to the balrog. It wasn't breathing I check already. So why is the boss room door not open?

  '...double lair."

  Wait...what the grandmother said was right? This was actually a double lair? I walked around the boss room and examine the place then I saw something protruding out. I went over check it. It was a hinge? I guide my hand around the wall and found out it was a pattern. I then took out a flashlight shining light on it. It was an ancient art. I looked around it and found more hinges on the side of the wall and finally found what seems like a handle. It looks familiar. The handle was carefully carved and detailed. It seems fragile. Then it hit me. The details draws a monster. Specifically a balrog. I immediately ran towards the balrog and started using my karambit to scratch the surface of the balrog.

Yerin's POV

  I was trying to find SinB when I saw her digging for something within the balrog. I went over to her and started asking.

  "SinB what are you doing?"

  "Err...finding something. Can you call Umji over?"

  "Sure."

  I ran into the crowd searching for the sight of Umji only to see her having a what seems like a serious conversation with Ms Kim.

  "Umji. SinB called you. She is digging something from the balrog." Umji's eyes went wide open as she sprinted out of the crowd towards SinB and the balrog.

Umji's POV

  This whole boss room didn't seem safe at all. I went towards Ms Kim and starting asking her.

  "Where is SinB?"

  "Near the balrog."

  "What do you mean?"

  "I think she found something out. You know how she is."

  Our conversation was interrupted when Yerin came and told me SinB asked for my assistance. When I went towards SinB I saw her trying to search for something in the balrog.

  "SinB what are you doing?"

  "Umji remembered what I told you at the library last time?"

  "Yeah. About this being a double lair?"

  "I think granny might be right about it."

  "Right about what?" Yerin said as she rest her hand on my shoulder.

  "Geez...you scared me."

  "Right about what?"Yerin asked again.

  "SinB?" I looked towards her to ask for some signs of approval. She nodded her head slightly still concentrating on digging the balrog.

  "About this being a double lair..."

  "Wait...what? How? What's a double lair? Wait? So what is happening?" Yerin started rambling on non stop not being able to calm down.

  "Yerin. Stop it. Calm the crowd first. Call them take a rest it is going to be long. Call Ms Kim to come here as well."

Yerin's POV

  "What am I suppose to tell the crowd?"

  "Tell them the fight isn't over and that the actual fight hasn't even begun. Add that this is also a double lair."

  Wait the actual fight hasn't even begun? We have been stuck in this room for 2 hours all tired and exhausted yet it is far from over? Regardless I went in front of the crowd before projecting my voice,

  "Magic Academy. Please stay calm. The fight is far from over. In fact it hasn't even begun. This is a double lair. That's why the door has yet to open. There might be a greater monster hidden somewhere behind those closed door. So let's all take a break whole we figure things out."

  "Wahhh...Yerin is soo smart..." No...I'm not...

  "Yerin is soo calm in this type of situation." I was freaking out when I found it about it...

  "Wahh...Yerin knew it..." I didn't know it until SinB and Umji told me...

  "Yerin is such a leader" I was just following instructions...it was all SinB...

  Everybody then started to sit down and rest while Umji, SinB and Ms Kim figure things out. I wanted to help them too but exhaustion took over and before I knew it I was asleep. After about 1 hour of sleep I woke up rubbing my eyes. I looked around to see all the students still sleeping except for one...SinB. I walked over to see what she was doing but I didn't understand anything soo I decided to ask.

  "SinB what are you doing?"

  "Solving a puzzle."

  Then I noticed that Umji and Ms Kim was also sleeping and not helping. Nobody was doing anything except for SinB.

  "SinB why are the others sleeping?"

  "They were tired...so I called them to rest first."

  "What can I help you with?"

  "Hmm...go rest, I will wake you up after I make some progress."

  I nodded my head slightly before going back to sleep.

SinB's POV

  Finally...after finding the key that was buried deep within the balrog I went over to the handle and insert the key into the handle. It somehow worked and it open up to be a puzzle? I took the puzzle settling it down onto the floor as I examine it.

  "SinB what is that?" Umji asked me with half open eyes. I could tell she was tired so was Ms Kim. I called them to note down the boss room's details on the walls and I guess they do not have any energy left in them.

  "Oh it is a puzzle box. Don't worry I will figure it out. You and Ms Kim can take a rest now. I will take over now. Thank you." She then heave a sigh of relief and went off the sleep with Ms Kim.

  Now it is only me and you puzzle box. Let's see how see smarter.

  "SinB what are you doing?" Just when I was about to start this exciting game, Yerin decided to interrupt me...

   "Solving a puzzle."

"SinB why are the rest sleeping?"

"They were tired so...I called them to rest first."

"What can I help you with?"

"Hmm...go rest, I will wake you up when I make some progress."

After Yerin was gone, I stared at the puzzle box...let the fun begin...
