Chapter 18

Yerin's POV

  "Emergency meeting. Help is needed at Itaewon. Monsters are currently on the loose, invading all stores at Itaewon. All hands-on deck. Send as many hunters as soon as possible. Monsters are mostly B ranked while some are A ranked." An announcement was played through the PA system. Umji, Yuju, Eunha, Sowon and I were at the canteen eating peacefully when the announcement came through.

  "Magic Academy, listen out. I'm pretty sure you had heard the announcement just now. Jung Yerin, Kim Yewon, Kim Sojung, Choi Yuna, Jung EunBi and all staffs personal ranked A and above. Please report to the headmaster office now." Another announcement came through the PA system. Looking at each other, we ran to the office as fast as we could, arriving there 3 minutes later, panting.

  "Headmaster, you called us?" I started off.

  "Yes. I will send you guys to Itaewon to help out over there. The teachers will brief you guys before you head there. I'll let you guys defeat the monsters for experience while the teachers will heal the injured. I will manage things over here." The headmaster said before rushing out of the office.

  "Okay first up. Leaders. I know Yerin is capable with her skills but I'll pick Sowon to lead you guys. Prepare what you'll need for the fight. Expect the unexpected. We'll meet back here in 5 minutes. Chop chop we have no time to lose." Ms Park said before dismissing us. We hurried back to our dorms preparing our stuffs before meeting back in the office. When we met, Umji looked uneasy.

  "Umji-ah. What happened to you? Are you okay?" I pat her back comforting her.

  "Y-Yeah...I just...I just don't feel good about this one." – Umji

  "Hmm? What do you mean by that?" – Yerin

  "I don't know. I just had a gut feeling that it wouldn't turn out good." – Umji

  "It's okay. Yuju and I are here to protect you." I said before hugging Umji.

  "Ok. The portal is ready, we will stand on the pedestal together. Remember that once we reach, we will be in the battle field so keeps your guards up from this moment." Ms Kim warned us before we stepped pedestal.

  I took a deep breath calming myself before joining them up at the pedestal. After teleporting we found ourselves situated right in the middle of the battle field. Without warning, a dragon flew right above us grabbing one of the residents who was in front of us.

  "NO!" I shouted. Before I could take off, Sowon grabbed my arm stopping me.

  "Stay calm. Follow my instructions. I don't want to repeat that incident again." Sowon said before adding on,

  "Umji and Yuju, go right flank. Yerin, you'll go down the central. Eunha and I will go left flank. Report if anything seems wrong. Back down if you can't handle it and notify one of us. Update us regularly and do not overexert yourselves. Now let's go!" Sowon commanded before taking off down to the left flank with Eunha. Sowon split the battle ground into 3 different sections to simplify things. She already spotted that the higher ranked monsters were in the middle and left me to handle it. 'The amount of faith she has for me, I can't fail her now,' I thought before going down the middle.

  "alysídes skión!" I chanted. The monsters on the grounds were held down by shadow chains.

  "ble klouví!" I chanted again. This time, those monsters who were flying were trapped in a box made by blue flame. Less than 10 seconds, cracks were spotted at the walls of the blue flame. It wasn't going to hold much longer. Before I could attack the monsters, somebody zoomed past me colliding their swords with the monster, killing them with one hit. The person then flew all over the place killing each of the monsters that were trapped in the box I made, before landing beside me. Then I realized, the person was our headmaster.
