"James!" someone screeched.
James didn't acknowledge the people in the doorway but I did. I really didn't want to snog my boyfriend in front of his family.
"James," I hissed, pushing his stomach(which was hard, by the way. I could feel his abs from under his(very)tight shirt. Which was green, by the way.)
James pulled away softly and turned towards his family, pushing me slightly behind him. "Yes, Dom?" he asked, intertwining his fingers with mine.
Dominique rolled her blue eyes. "What're you doing with that-that slut?!" she shrieked.
I saw Scorpius bite his lips but he didn't correct her. James' eyes narrowed dangerously. "Excuse me?" he responded, grabbing my hand tighter.
Fred stepped closer. "Dude. She broke your heart. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't snog that slag after she broke your heart, James," he "warned."
I felt James' hand let go of mine.
"James, she isn't good enough for you. Let her go, man," Lorcan added, glaring at me.
James was still silent. My heart was getting heavier.
"James," Lily whispered. "I-I don't think Eva would be...be the best for you," she meekly whispered, glancing her brown eyes to my blue ones.
My heart cracked. Her too? Did they like not hear me? Are they blind?! Jesus!
"Potter," Scorpius called. "I don't usually say this but she-you guys aren't meant together," Malfoy said without regret. He was my best friend. He was supposed to back me up! He knew what my parents did and does. He was supposed to believe me.
That was when my resolve cracked. I stepped back and let out a sob and pushed past the lot and ran down the stairs, leaving a speechless James and gobsmacked family and friends. I guess seeing someone they thought "didn't have a heart" cry could give them some shock.
I ran and ran until I bumped into someone.
"Ave?" they asked.
I looked up to see Evan Avery. One of the nicer boys in Slytherin in my year. I had dated him in 5th year. We stayed close friends after the break up.
"Ev," I sobbed, clinging onto him for dear life.
"It's okay," Evan soothed, pulling me into a hug.
I just sobbed. I was tired of crying. "It's not! Why is life so-so-so fucking hard?!" I screamed. It sounded like someone ripped my heart out.
Suddenly, my legs gave out and Evan was suddenly holding all of my weight.
"Ave!" he yelped, holding me bridal style.
"I'll take her," someone said with a deep voice. It sounded familiar but I was drifting into blackness.
"Be careful, Potter," Evan said.
"I always am," James responded, carrying me gently up the stairs into the hospital wing, his arms encircled around my shoulders and under my legs, my head on his chest. With my arms around his neck, I fell into blackness.
Forever.
Just kidding.
I woke up to stark white. It blinded me. I never wore white.
"The fuck...?" I mumbled, lifting my hand to rub my eyes, only to be stopped by a pair of lips. "Mmmph!" I groaned.
"You scared me, Aves," James whispered into my neck, pulling me onto his lap and cuddling me. Like a teddy bear, FYI.
"James," I breathed, tucking my head under his chin before yesterday's(was it yesterday?)events came rushing back. I fiddled with my hands. "You-you don't think I'm, you know, Not...not good for you...right?" I asked, looking down.
James tilted my head up and sighed. "You, ma'am, need to work on your self-confidence," he said sternly.
I raised an eyebrow. "Would you like me to rather comment on how I hate your family? Preferably Dominique, Fred, and Lily?" I asked sharply, standing up off of his lap.
James' eyes flashed for a moment. "That's my sister and cousins you're talking about, Aves," he warned.
I flicked my hair off of my shoulder. "I am aware, James," I muttered. "But when someone hurts you after you told them about your family and tells you that you aren't a good match with someone you love, that sort of thing happens. I'm sorry you're offended but-"
"You love me?" he whispered, pushing up his glasses.
I blushed a right red. "W-what? Did I say that?" I squeaked, begging the blush to go away.
James took a step forward and circled his arms around my waist. "Don't worry, I love you too, gorgeous," he whispered before kissing me sweetly, his lips parting slightly.
I sighed in happiness after the kiss ended and leaned against him. "You know. I love you too. And I'm sorry about what I said before," I mumbled.
James kissed my temple. "It's okay, gorgeous," he mumbled back before kissing me again.
Needless to say, we skipped classes.
Ahoooooo! I swear I squealed when I wrote that last part.
