IT WAS ONLY 6 days into work before leah had her first case. they flew to michigan and solved the case in 4 days.

leah thought she would be exhausted on the flight back home, but surprisingly she couldn't fall asleep.

she looked around to see if anyone else was awake, and came to the conclusion that everyone was sleeping.

she took out her earphones and plugged them into her mp3 player, playing one of her favorite songs: "teenage dirtbag" by wheatus.

she started to hum along quietly, not wanting to wake anyone up.

after about a minute into the song, she felt someone tap her shoulder. she jumped, she thought everyone was sleeping and was scared it was some psychopath who wanted to kill her.

she turned her head quickly to reveal the culprit was spencer reid. she sighed in relief, removing her earphones from her ears.

"hey," was all leah said.

"hey," spencer replied. "sorry if i scared you; we're just the only people up."

"yeah, i thought i was the only one."

she looked in spencer's hands to see he had a book in them. "what're you reading?"

spencer looked down at the book. "oh, it's the collector by john fowles."

"cool, what's it about?"

"a psycho who kidnapped an art student and holds her captive in a basement. what were you listening to?"

"just my favorite song."

"and that happens to be..?"

"'teenage dirtbag' by wheatus."

"never heard of it."

"seriously?!" leah gasped. "it's such a good song! well, at least i think so. it's not the best or the most well known, but it's still amazing."

"mind if i listen to it too?"

leah looked at him. "oh, um, yeah sure."

leah handed him one of her earphones which he placed in his ear, as leah did the same with the other earphone. she started the song from the beginning.

leah sang along quietly to the lyrics as they began. "her name is noelle..."

as soon as spencer heard her, he looked at her, smiling. he laughed a bit as she kept singing. she got every word right until the song finally ended.

spencer removed the earphone from his ear. "you actually like that type of music?"

leah looked at him, shocked. "you didn't like it?"

"not really, no."

"what kind of music does doctor spencer reid listen to then?"

"mozart."

they ended up playing 20 questions, just so they could get to know each other more.

"you're more interesting than i thought, doctor spencer reid."

"as are you, agent leah gray."

she smiled at him, and he smiled back at her. leah laid her head on her chair, feeling herself slowly start to drift off. she thought she could get a bit of sleep in before the plan landed, considering she had a lot of time since then. the flight was 1 hour and 30 minutes long, and her and spencer had only been-

as soon as leah closed her eyes, she was abruptly jolted upwards. the plane was landing.

leah looked out of the window that she was sitting next to. she looked back at spencer "we're landing already?"

"i guess we are."

"i thought we've only been talking for like, 30 minutes."

"well, if you add 63 minutes to that, you'd be right."

"huh," leah said, looking out the window again. "well, doctor, i actually had a lot of fun tonight."

"so did i, we should do it again sometime."

"sure, cant wait till our next plane ride." leah winked at him, and stood up from her seat when the plane stopped. everyone woke up and grabbed their bags.

spencer was still seated when leah left, saying her goodByes to him.

only one question relayed in his mind; why did he say that?

he really didn't mean to, he only meant to think it. all he knew was that he liked hanging out with leah, and he wanted to again.
