The next week was filled with many firsts. This including her first time skipping class and her first time feeling as rebellious as she felt that week. Her and Shawn's friendship blossomed and with Shawn's flirtatious demeanour, she barely knew how to act around him. It was a good type of nervous she felt, the type of nervous that made you realize that you were slowly and steadily falling for that person.
Although, Camila has never been in a relationship. Some will say she's crazy and others will laugh in disbelief or uttered amusement but she honestly didn't care all too much. It wasn't like she was apposed to dating, it was more of the fact that she never had many guy friends to even talk to and build a romance with them.
"What?" Shawn's disbelief was muffled by the sandwich that he was currently munching on during their lunch break. They decided to take their lunch alone, outside on a park bench instead of in the cafeteria with Shawn's friends and a few of Camila's.
She sighed, explaining that she had never once had a boyfriend before. She wasn't exactly sure why she decided to lay this on him but she did and she felt comfortable doing so, "you seriously have never had a boyfriend before?"
Camila wasn't self conscious about it. She used to be but she knew that Shawn wasn't one to judge. She felt safe with him. Camila could tell him anything and not have a worry about what he'd say and how he'd react.
"Nope." She shook her head, meeting his eyes. His look softened, "that's...cool."
"Cool?"
"Yes...cool...like...everyone I know has had their fair shares of girlfriends and boyfriends. Including me-"
"Is that supposed to make me feel better about it?" She raised an eyebrow, amused as to where this was going. She laughed as his eyes widened and cheeks painted a deep red.
"Well...I-...listen, I think it's great because you're older and more mature. That's all. Plus, it doesn't matter all that much. When the time is right, it'll happen." He shrugged and Camila flashed her dreamy smile that Shawn truly was mesmerized by. "Wait...have you...have you kissed anyone?" He asked, unsure of his question, not wanting to overstep.
"I have but it was for a dare last year at my friends house. It was...dumb. Not very...magical." She sighed, not wanting to ever relive the moment. Her eyes darted towards his honey pooled ones, "what about you? When was your first kiss?"
"I was thirteen." Shawn responded. "It was really stupid since it was my first time getting high and I...don't know...it just happened."
She was taken aback that his first time getting high was at the age it was. Though, she shouldn't have been so shocked. Not because it was Shawn Mendes but because she figured that's when many teens experimented.
"Are you...a virgin?" Camila asked shyly. He chuckled, "no, I'm not."
"I am." She stated. Not that she thought that he'd think otherwise.
Their lunch break ended and soon they pulled apart from one another, promising to meet after last period to go home together.
That's exactly what they did. It was a Friday, meaning that Camila would be spending her weekend there. It was slowly becoming routine for the two. She got along with Shawn's mom very well and there was no doubt that Karen adored the Cuban.
"Hey...I noticed you wore one of my hoodies to school today." Shawn nudged her shoulder as they made their way into the empty Mendes household. She blushed, slightly embarrassed. "Yeah...it's comfy. I hope you know that you're never getting it back." She stuck her tongue out at him and before judging his next move, he already had her over his shoulders as she squealed and begged for him to settle her down. He did once he was in his room.
