chapter 1

aliza's pov*
today is december 30th and i am flying out to new jersey from california.
my parents have been going through a divorce and my mom thought it was best if i went to live w my aunt and cousin, it's a long story...
my flight is landed in new jersey, alejandro (my cousin) is picking me up . i walk out of the plane and see that the airport isn't as big. i read signs walking towards baggage claim and get texts from ale,
ale: hey u land yet?
me: yes js landed. walking towards baggage claim

i enter baggage claim and see alejandro waving me down,
"hey!" i smile as we hug, "how have you been?" he asks, "could be better" i smile, "well you look great" he says,
we wait till i grab my bags than we catch up. it was p chilly outside, as we approach his car, he open the trunk ,
"here i got it" he says taking my bag, "thank you" i say as i get into the front seat

...

we arrive to his house and it's about 8pm already ,
we park in his driveway, my uncle and aunt come rushing out as i get off the car,
"alizaaaa! hermosaaaa" my aunt says grabbing my face and kissing my forehead, "hey auntie" i smile as ale hands me my bags.
we get in and my aunt is giving me a house tour of downstairs,
"alejandro will show you your room and everywhere upstairs" she says, "i will" he says.
he helps me carry my bags upstairs and shows my around than leads me to my room.
"this is nice" i say smiling, it was an empty room w two windows on both walls.
"you're welcome to decorate. it's p sad in here" ale laughs which makes me giggle, "i want you to meet my friends before you get registered for school , and you and lina can meet tomorrow" he says making me feel welcome, "yes of course" i say sitting on the bed,
"well text me if you need anything. goodnight" he says softly shutting the door...

it was already 12 by now and i js finishes unpacking. doesn't look like a lot, but i have hella shoes and clothes plus i had a whole box full of room decorations that was shipped here last friday from my old room.. so i js set all of it up tonight.
i change into some shorts a oversized shirt than lay down to sleep..
