Chapter 4: Becoming Useful.

Next morning Akshita woke up and noticed that Kriti had somehow clung to her and was sleeping deeply, Akshita then gently picked Kriti up and settled in the quilt while making sure that she wont wake up. Then Akshita got out of bed then stretched herself then made her way towards the washroom, after a few minutes of freshening up Akshita came out of the washroom and had changed from her nightgown into a casual daily wear, Making sure that both girls were sleeping Akshita quietly made her way out of the room.

After an hour or so Kriti woke up and noticed that Shraddha was still sleeping and Mukta was lying on the bed in place of Akshita "Morning" she greeted Mukta "Morning dear" replied Mukta. Just as then Shraddha got up as well, after greeting both Mukta and Kriti Shraddha came close to Mukta "Where's Akshita" she asked "She had a meeting so she and Swati had to go" replied Mukta "Why didn't she take us" asked Kriti "Because she didn't want to disturb your sleep" replied Mukta then Mukta got up, picked up both girls and then proceeded towards the washroom.

A few minutes later Mukta brought both girls out of the washroom and headed outside the room. After walking down the stairs Mukta placed both girls on the table of the sitting area "Breakfast" Mukta asked both girls nodded then Mukta headed towards the dining room and brought a serving dish and placed it on the table "Wow, what is it" asked Kriti "scrambled eggs" replied Mukta then both girls reached for the plate and started to eat.

Just as then the main door bell rang, Mukta got up and proceeded towards it then opened it to reveal the Akshita and Swati had come back, Akshita came inside and noticed that both girls were eating breakfast "Just got up" asked Akshita "yeah" replied Mukta then Mukta and Akshita proceeded to sitting area and sat down on the lounge chairs, Akshita admired the way both girls ate. After the girls finished eating Akshita picked up both girls and headed towards Mukta's room.

A few minutes later Akshita came out of the washroom and then placed both girls on the bed just as then Mukta arrived and sat on the bed with her feet up. "Akshu" called Mukta "Yes, Maate" replied Akshita "I was thinking why don't you give them some work, You so that you could get some help" asked Mukta "I have to check where they can be useful the most" replied Akshita.

An hour later Akshita was in her office, Akshita's office was a huge room with one big table in the middle of the room which served as Akshita's work desk and designing table a big rack on the left side of the room contained various fabrics while on right side of the room were two cloth rack stands with various clothes hanging, A high back office chair served as Akshita's boss chair while her desk had three more normal office chairs for customers and guests. Akshita was working on her computer looking through her emails she kept scrolling down her emails and then stopped at one particular email.

Just as then Swati came into the office with a tray in her hand, the tray contained a glass with some juice. Swati approached the desk then kept the glass next to Akshita "Thanks" said Akshita "Why are you reading this email" asked Swati "Mummy has suggested that I put both Kriti and Shraddha to work, That way they won't be useless" said Akshita taking a sip of juice "That actually is a good idea" replied Swati "So this buyer Sajini wants to make a unique high end fashion doll, Her primary motive is that this doll be designed in such a way that the doll's clothes can be changed in a similar manner as we do so she has request a batch of doll clothes" explained Akshita "And the doll's size" asked Swati "No specifications" replied Akshita "so i was thinking to use both girls as fashion doll template to design clothes for Sajini, That way I could have both girls working and start a new division" explained Akshita "It's not a bad idea" said Swati.

"Where are they" asked Akshita finishing the juice "In your room watching some music on TV" replied Swati "I'll talk to them" said Akshita then got up and proceeded towards the door which led to her room. After entering her room Akshita noticed that both girls were sitting on the bed, Akshita approached the bed and sat on the left side of the bed then got close to the girls. "I need to talk to you both" said Akshita then Kriti reached for the remote and pressed the power button with her hand and turned off the TV "I have a proposal, Before coming to your island I was contacted by a buyer who wanted doll clothes, Since you both are the perfect size I think you both can help" said Akshita "Thanks, but I don't want to do it" said Shraddha rudely "Hey, what's wrong, Can't you see she's trying to help" asked Kriti "I appreciate the help, But no thanks" replied Shraddha then Akshita scooped up Shraddha in her fist and brought her close to her face "What's the matter" Akshita asked firmly "Don't you know, I was exiled, I'm good for nothing, I'll only mess up your work" said Shraddha in an angry tone. "That's not true" said Akshita then placed Shraddha back on the bed "Kareena exiled you because she wanted you to have a better life not because you were useless" added Akshita "Lies all lies" said Shraddha "It's true, Kareena told us this herself" said Kriti "Then why didn't she tell me" asked Shraddha "That is where she failed" said Akshita "the truth is that she still loves you more than Abhiram, But because she was a leader she couldn't show it" said Kriti "try to understand Shraddha, she only wanted your betterment" added Kriti "Sending you away was the hardest thing for her, She may not have said it openly but i could feel it in her voice from the moment she decided to the moment you left" added Akshita "even if it is true how will working for you better me" asked Shraddha "Don't work for me, work with me" said Akshita "I have a buyer who needs doll clothes, whatever i earn from this we split it, equal share" said Akshita "It's a good offer, this way we earn money, gain experience and get to know how this world works" said Kriti "I'm in" added Kriti, Akshita smiled then turned to Shraddha "don't think too much" said Akshita "I'm in too" said Shraddha turning her bitter mood into a smile.

Akshita then picked both girls and gently kissed them "Partners" asked Akshita "Partners" replied Kriti "Partners" said Shraddha. Then Akshita got up then went towards her office, once inside Akshita placed both girls on the desk and sat down.

Swati who was still in the office looked at Akshita "Take their measurements" said Akshita to Swati "Yes ma'am" said Swati "And also get me the samples I had made for my college project" said Akshita, Swati nodded then got up and went out of the office through a third door which led to store room. Swati returned with a shoe box while Akshita made Kriti and Shraddha understand some parts of her work.

Swati placed the box next to both girls then opened it revealing some doll clothes designs "I made this for several college projects" said Akshita while taking out some samples and showed them both girls. Just then Akshita brought out a beautiful bright pink short dress "Let me try that" said Shraddha then Akshita gave the dress to Shraddha then Shraddha hid behind the box and started to change while Akshita and the others waited, Then Shraddha revealed herself looking dazzling "wow" said Kriti "Indeed, it suits you" said Akshita "Doesn't it" said Shraddha "Keep it" said Akshita then Akshita pulled out a olive colored floral jumpsuit "It's mine" said Kriti then jumped towards it then Akshita gave the dress to Kriti who then decided to change and headed behind the box.

After a while Kriti showed herself "It looks good on you" said Swati Akshita just kept smiling towards Kriti. Both then changed back to their usual clothes then Swati started to take their measurements.
