Hi guys! Long time, no see, huh? I actually can't remember exactly when I finished writing Going Up, but probably four years ago, or something like that. I guess it takes a global pandemic to bring me back to Wattpad...
Anyway! I'm back and here with a brand new and exciting story. I hope that you'll notice a difference in my writing and some growth (I hope! If not... oops). Before we start, there are quite a few things I want to say about this story:
1) I am white and British. This story is written from Cora's perspective, who is a Black American woman. There will be things that I get wrong, or don't understand and I'm sorry for that. If I have been offensive in any way, please point it out to me. I would only ask that you do so kindly: I am aware that I will continue to make mistakes but I am willing and open to learning. When I started writing this story around three years ago, I think, I was aware about the lack of diversity in my other books and I can only apologise for that as well. This is my attempt to tell a story that represents New York a bit better. I hope you like it. (Also, as I mentioned, I am British. Some of my language will probably not be the American English that might be used there. I hope you can live with that)
2) This story is set in the same world as Going Up. Despite my (many!!) failings when I wrote that story, I do love some of the characters and I also wanted to give myself a chance to improve on one of them, in particular. You'll see.
3) This is mostly pre-written. I just have the epilogue and some editing stages to go. Hopefully updates should be fairly regular.
4) All rights reserved. No stealing and all that.
5) Lastly - be kind. To each other and my characters. I hope you'll love this book as much as I have loved making it (if any of you are still here after all this time!!).
I put together some character aesthetics below (this is my first time making them, pls be nice lol - also if anyone wants to make some let me know!!). I made two for both Cora and Seth because I'm indecisive hehe. Feel free to picture them as you like, but don't white-wash my characters. Except Seth, he is the whitest of white boys.

Maybe I'll put together a playlist at some stage too, who knows. Also, maybe I'll add other character aesthetics as we go. We'll see.Anyway, here we are. Hope you love this story as much as I do!
