Into You - Chapter 1 - 1 2 3
{Future POV}
It may have been those ethereal eyes, the darkening liquorice flavour that danced within each one, maybe it was the mass of charcoal curls that contrasted so well with smooth and silky, milk coloured skin or the slight curl to those rose kissed lips, either way, it would've always led me to this moment, no matter what.
{End of Future POV}
Violet, blue, green and red adorned the coal coloured city, the sky wavering as a charred blanket above my head. A couple of days ago it had all been so different, pelting rain and shrill screams that echoed through my minuscule cupboard room, threatening comments would never be forgotten, but the bustling view of a Seattle street came particularly close to a very well-done erasing job. My hands smoothed down the poster displayed above my eyes, all four edges had taken their ware and the colouring had faded into a greyish blue, but there in the centre was a promising offer. I neatly folded it, placing it in my back pocket as I plugged in my earphones, mindlessly miming away to every song on my playlist. As the ashy fog blasted across the twinkling moon I sighed, entering the small, twenty-four-hour convenience store just a block away from my apartment.
My hand locked the door, I wanted nothing less than using the public toilet, thick grime in between each tile and a suspicious amount of saffron liquid dripping from the stall next to mine. I held my breath, staring into the mirror. My midnight turtleneck tucked into a fitted tartan skirt, thin red lines forming a preppy style to match my; over the knee cotton socks and pure black leather combat boots. I put a finger to my lip, gently sliding it across the ruby lip gloss, highlighting the glowing feature. My hair was middle-parted, it's glossy, loose and long waves falling down my back as if it were an untouched vine. I took one look at the atrocity they called a toilet and furrowed my brows, there was no chance I'd go any closer to it than I was.
Crinkle noises filled my ears as my fingertips ran across the different packets placed tidily on the shelves, I sighed, picking a green bag of apple-shaped gummies. "that'll be $1.50 please." The cashier grinned, winking as he waited for me to hand over the change. "My, are you new in town? I've never seen such a beauty like you." He brushed my hand slightly, leaning closer to me as I backed away. "Sorry sir, I must get going." He sighed, watching me turn and speed walk out of the doors. The sound of a ringing bell ended after a smooth second, followed by the harsh shutting sound behind me. "That was a close one." I whispered, still clutching the bag in my hands. I had come across many strange people in my life, but it was only my third night in Seattle and I wasn't exactly streetwise yet. I exhaled, feeling rather lucky I had escaped his pestering words so easily.
Little did I know how my luck would burn to a crisp in a matter of seconds.
A blink of an eye was all it took before I was pinned to the wall as if on display in a gallery, my lips parted for a gasp before they were covered by a large, cold hand. Their face was mostly covered, with just a pair of intoxicating eyes that viewed me as their scrambling prey, I tried to stay calm, but I knew my heartbeat could be heard, especially from how close they were. "You are so magnificent." The deep voice filled my ears, his eyes moved slightly, I assumed it was from a vile smirk dancing onto his lips as he watched me panic, frozen solid by his icy touch. "I'll make you my piece of art, your innocent little soul will be mine." My clutch on the bag loosened as my eyes widened at the sentences leaving his mouth, I was sure in that moment he would've killed me, my blood propelling itself through my body as cold sweat trickled down the back of my neck. "Don't fear me." All of a sudden, his grip loosened, he reached down for the bag I had dropped, tearing it open and tossing one into his mouth, careful enough to not reveal anything more than his already displayed eyes. I wanted to run but I couldn't, his aura made me certain he'd murder me in a split second so I stood mortified, watching him in disbelief. "Please don't hurt me, I didn't do anything." My voice tore through the pin tugging silence as a growl-like chuckle emerged from beneath the mask on his face. "You should be thanking me; I took care of that pathetic loser who decided he'd try his luck with you." My eyes darted to the glass door, now splattered with crimson, a loud gasp filled my ears as a hand clapped over my mouth, "shut that gorgeous little face of yours, I wouldn't want to destroy such a pretty dolly like you baby lips." He held a silver knife before my eyes, letting it catch a few twinkles before he pulled away.
