Trying Trials

Hathor claps her hands and a mighty boom rings out. The sun was still early in the morning so the air was still crisp and cold and everyone was gathered at a starting line. The first trial was trial by speed and the object of the game was to get to the end of the finishing line where Kai and Hathor will be waiting along with everyone else. It sounded simple, but actually it was hard and dangerous. Lloyd and Imhotep were being pulled by chariots and Lloyd had zero clue how to even ride a horse much less drive a chariot.

"This looks just like the chariot I was in when I killed my loves parents. I think I'll kill you all much more slowly," Imhotep said with a gleeful smile. "Just when I think you can't get creepier you say that," Kai shudders. "Do not fret love I will deal with this petty slave and then you can be my whore once again," Imhotep said. Kai shudders again and sinks into the chair. Hathor allowed Kai to change into something less revealing, but since he still was technically Imhotep's it was not that much better. He was still wearing the makeup and jewels, but this time the skirt was slightly longer and he had on a shirt that connected at the shoulders leaving his arms bear. It looked like something a Egyptian noblewoman would wear. Hathor clapped again and everyone turns to her. She huffs and adjusts her tiara. "Okay so the course is simple. You have to get over the long stretch of land, around the winding turbines, crisscrossing routes, dangerous traps, and whoever gets over first wins," Hathor said then adds. "How did you not hear me the first time? Kids these days are so hard to get the attention of. And if one of you die then I might be able to pull some strings with Anubis or Osiris and get you out of the underworld though they are still so cranky. Maybe I should try my luck with Hades," She trails off. "Isn't Hades Greek though?" Zane asks. she rolls her eyes. "Yeah, but when Persephone is gone for six months he hangs out in Egypt with me and Anubis don't tell his big brother Zeus though he is such a hypocrite," She said with a eye roll like a teenager talking about a annoying elder. Hathor sat in her chair and snaps her fingers. She and Kai disappeared to the end of the track as Clutch stepped up with a flag. "Ready set, go!" Clutch drew the flag down and Imhotep races off, but Lloyd was having some trouble with the horses. "Come on horses move it!" Lloyd tries getting them to move. Imhotep was getting further and further down the tracks and Lloyd was getting panicky.

"Lloyd use your dragon," Zane suggests. "Isn't that against the rules?" Lloyd asks. "The only rule she said was too get across the finishing line first. She did not say how now move!" Nya yells and Lloyd summons his dragon ditching the chariot. At the end of the track Hathor was being fanned and fed grapes by servants while making small talk with Kai.

"Soooo got any good gossip? I have not had anything juicy to talk about since Set chopped up Osiris," Hathor asks Kai to pass the time. Kai thought for a moment. "Well what exactly happens if Lloyd wins?" Kai asks. "Well then your basically married to him in life and maybe death, but in death you kind of gotta get a underworld certificate to make it official in death," Hathor said. Kai frowns and looks down. Being a goddess such as herself Hathor knew what he was feeling. "You know the trial only works if both participants love you," Hathor said and Kai looks up. "He doesn't love me like that. He just see's me as a big brother," Kai said. "Well Imhotep loves you for your looks and how having a queen with your eyes would make him powerful," Hathor said. "Wait what do my eyes have to do with anything?" Kai asks feeling self conscious. "Some believe that having a unique eye colour meant you were descended from gods. I will just clear it up only the Greeks, Romans, and Norse guys fooled around with mortals we never had any snot nosed kiddies with mortals," Hathor said with a disgusted look at the thought. "Also they get to walk around whenever they want. Us Egyptians never get to fool around with the mortals or have fun. I'm technically not even allowed to stick around after. The second I announce the winner and say your married right back to the duet," Hathor did a sad face before realizing she got off topic. "But anyway the green boy actually loves you. The challenging thing would not have worked otherwise," Hathor said. Kai blinks kind of shocked by this. Hathor looked at the track and sat up. "Oh! Here they come!" She squeals.

Kai smiles seeing Lloyd on his dragon. "Whooo a dragon! That is a new one," Hathor said in excitement. Imhotep and Lloyd are neck and neck as they raced to the finish line. After a tense minute they both crossed the finishing line. "Who won?" Kai asks looking at Hathor. Hathor being the goddess knew exactly who had won. She stood up. "The winner of the trial of speed is Pharoah Imhotep," Hathor said. "What?!" Lloyd and Kai screeched as Imhotep cheers for himself. "One of many for my queen," Imhotep blew a kiss in Kai's direction and he looked away. "On to the next trial the trial of bravery!" Hathor declares and claps her hands.

The ground under them rumbles and suddenly a arena is popping out of the sand. In the arena is a obstacle course with death traps at nearly every route. The others magically appeared in the stands. "Hey Kai who won the race?" Cole calls out. "Imhotep," Kai answers solemnly. The others cringe at that. "Anyway whoever gets across the course first proves that they are the bravest," Hathor sums up. "Get moving!" She yells.

Lloyd and Imhotep started running across the course. The point of it proving that you were the bravest is that Hathor designed the course that only the bravest can cross. Like zip lining across a river with alligators trying to bite you in half would make anyone sane hesitate. Anyway Lloyd jumped across moving stones, pillars, dodged spikes, blasted some alligators, and finally just had to climb a really tall wall. He looked behind him and saw Imhotep was having trouble on the court. Lloyd smiles he had this in the bag. He began climbing up the wall making good speed when he grabbed the last hand hold his hand sunk into the wall. "What?" Lloyd exclaims pulling and pulling his hand. He looked and saw Imhotep smirking. Clearly he had used his magic to trap Lloyd. Imhotep took a long time, but he eventually got to the wall which he merely floated up thanks to him using his magic. Lloyd was still stuck on the foot hold as the others yelled in the background that Hathor had to do something. She merely replied that all skills are to be used in the games so technically Imhotep is not cheating.

Once on the top Imhotep smirks down at Lloyd who growls at him. "Let me out!" Lloyd yells at the Pharoah. Imhotep shrugs. "Sure why not?" Imhotep does so, but Lloyd was unprepared for it and he lost his hold. His hold on the other footholds was lost as well and he was clinging to the top of the wall. He struggles to get a good gripping and tries getting up. Imhotep looks over and smirks at the boy. "Remember boy my dessert blossom is only mine and maybe for our honeymoon I'll conquer the village you call Ninjago city. Of course though I will be taking my prize the second I am declared the winner," Imhotep said. "He belongs to no one," Lloyd responds. "Oh well," Imhotep said and stepped on Lloyd's hand making him let go. Lloyd and his friends scream as he fell. Lloyd quickly uses his airjitzu and slows the fall. Once he hit the ground the others rushed too him as quick as possible. Imhotep crosses the line of course once again winning.

Lloyd was bleeding on the ground his fingers twitching. "He's dead. Which means I win," Imhotep said and grabbed his prize away from Lloyd who he was crying over. Kai kicks and punches at Imhotep while the others tended to Lloyd. "He isn't dead," Hathor announces and leaned down. She rubs her hands together and a golden light went over Lloyd's body. He was magically healed in moments mostly.

"Ow!" Lloyd said when he moved. Imhotep growls that Lloyd was still alive. "Your still wounded. Until you are fully healed the trials are on pause. And since Imhotep has one all the games thus far he gets possession of Kai until the games recommence," Hathor said. Imhotep smiles again while the others argue against that. "Don't worry if Imhotep does anything too dirty to him then he automatically looses," Hathor said.

"Well then. Have fun healing puny mortal I'm going to treat myself to this beauty," Imhotep said leering at Kai who tried biting his finger off. "Don't worry Kai I'll be healed in no time," Lloyd said wincing as he sat up. "I know," Kai said with a smile at Lloyd before he was taken out of sight by Imhotep. Lloyd looks to Hathor. "Can't you do anything?" He asks. "Sorry I cannot," Hathor said.

"There's still three more games and sure as hell am I going to win them," Lloyd said in determination.
