Todoroki absolutely panics when he finds out. "What the hell do you mean Midoriya is missing?!"

All Might and Aizawa both sigh in unison and exchange glances. Todoroki is only focused on Uraraka though, who has her head hung in shame.

"I don't know what happened," she whispers, biting down hard on her lip as her eyes fill with tears. "H- He asked me to go shopping with him at the mall and I walked away for a second to look at something and then… he was gone. Just like that."

"It's Deku," Bakugo mumbles, annoyed, and both Uraraka and Todoroki turn their heads to look at him. "You know him- he wanders off and spaces out like a dumbass, so don't get all worried over the nerd. He'll be back."

It seems like Bakugo is actually trying to calm everyone a little and reassure them or something, but in any case, it does nothing to really soothe anyone. Uraraka lets her head fall again as she goes back to blaming herself and Todoroki bites down hard on his bottom lip.

"What if he was kidnapped by some villain like Bakugo was?" Kaminari wonders aloud, eyebrows furrowed. "We have to go looking for him, don't we? Like… we can't just let this happen- we should be trying to save him."

Kirishima nods in agreement, and then suddenly most of the class is mumbling that they feel the same. That they want to help find him and save him.

"The pros will go looking for him," Aizawa corrects and his students shut up - he's backed up by All Might, who is currently giving four out of the five certain students who had rescued Bakugo knowing looks. "Don't worry about Midoriya. I'm sure he's alright, or at least he will be."

But all Todoroki can do after that is worry. He finds that he's unable to focus on his homework, his training, nothing. And every free moment he gets to himself he's spent spacing out, hoping his friend is okay, hoping that he's safe and alive.

He can't help but to wonder what the hell is happening to him out there, wherever he is. Is he hurt? Is he okay? Is he scared? Not knowing is making Todoroki feel sick to his stomach.

He's even distracted when he visits his mother and she asks him about it. "What's bothering you, Shouto?"

Rei runs her fingers through her son's two-toned hair in an attempt to soothe him a little. She brushes some of the white strands behind his ear and tucks them back there. He finds it comforting.

"My friend went missing the other day," he admits, because he isn't really sure of who else he can share his worries with. "We're thinking a villain kidnapped him, and nobody is allowing me to help look for him. It's so… frustrating."

"I know it must be," she exhales, her fingers touching his chin and guiding him to look at her. "But they must have a reason. It could be dangerous, and you know that nobody would want you to get hurt. Not again."

Todoroki's hand absently flies to the scar on his stomach that is in almost the same place as Midoriya's. "I know that," he mumbles with a soft sigh, "But I hate sitting around. I want to make sure that he's okay and I want to be there to protect him if he isn't. I want to help find him as soon as possible, but they won't let me do a damned thing. I hate it."

Rei thinks it over before saying something she doesn't exactly want to- it shows in her expression as she talks. "Have you asked your father if you could help?"

Todoroki has thought about it, and he's sure that if he asked, his old man might let him assist in the search and perhaps the rescue once they figure out if it's the League of Villains that has Midoriya or not, but… Todoroki would rather not ask that man for anything. Though if it means he gets to help find Midoriya, he'd suffer through whatever necessary.
