Luma had a complicated life. She was privileged, yes, but she had her problems. As part of the royal family, she should not have things to worry about, right? Her older sister was the perfect leader who would for sure follow her parent's footsteps. As the older sibling she would automatically be the next queen, that's how it works in the lion kingdom. There were complains but overall everyone had a good life, more or less. Luma felt pressured. Her sister was a perfect example while she was struggling trying to make her parents proud. That's it, she wanted to make them proud at all costs. Happiness only.
Luma was so obsessed with that idea that she started to lie. Luma hid her pain, her fears, as good as she could. Luckily, she was not alone with those waves of negativity. She had close friends who supported her until one school year Luma's life changed rapidly.
The new school year brought changes into Luma's life which led to more stress. Way more stress. The school year had just started and Luma knew she would fail horribly.
One lunch break, Luma went with a good friend of hers, Serati, who wanted to meet up with about two other friends. That day changed a big part in Luma's life because she was confronted with Guro. Luma and Guro knew each other from the beginning of the school year but after that they never talked until now. From that lunch break on they became closer. Sometimes, Luma and Guro were alone, sometimes another friend of Guro was with them but despite that they actually had a class together.
Slowly but surely a friendship was forming but not a usual friendship.
Luma trusts people fast so she always said a few things about her struggles and Guro? He just supported her. He gave her advice, he pushed her to become the person she wanted to be. There was one thing about Guro that made Luma feel confused. Almost every other lion disliked Guro without truly knowing him.
"He is so selfish"
"He is so full of himself"
"He thinks he is the best"
Luma knew that wasn't right. Is confidence a negative thing now? He was not like that! Time passed and Guro and Luma became closer friends. Luma told Guro about almost everything in her life, asked for advice and even talked nonsense during her dark times.
Guro stayed.
Even after everything he knew, after all the times Luma annoyed him, he didn't leave.
To this day Guro is one of Luma's closest friends but what does Guro think? Ehat is Luma for him?
Guro doesn't really talk about a lot of private things, in general.
Is that a bad thing? Is it a bad thing that Luma tells him everything and he doesn't tell her all *his* concerns?
No.
Nobody owes you anything if they didn't ask for it. Friends or not, you should always respect each other's boundaries and never pressure anyone to tell you something they're not comfortable with. The unexpected thing? Imagine an almost complete stranger becoming one of your closest friends in one year, one single year. Especially after hearing bad things about them. Never listen to rumors. If you're told that somebody is bad don't just treat them shitty. Make your own experiences with them, trust your gut and don't let anybody tell you who you can be friends with because if they do; cut. them. off.
