Location: Dining Hall |Neagi POV
The orange juice tasted like static.
I gulped it down anyway, ignoring the way my tongue prickled- since when did I like citrus? Across the table, Enoshima-san stabbed her pancakes with surgical precision. Too precise. The syrup pooled like blood around her fork.
Something's wrong with her.
My hand twitched toward my notebook. Flipping it open, I froze.
"Junko's eyes are blue in magazines."
"THEY'RE BROWN. SHE'S A FAKE."
The handwriting on the second line wasn't mine.
"Makoto-kun?" Enoshima-san tilted her head, her smile stretching just too wide. "You're staring."
I slammed the notebook shut. "S-Sorry! Just... thinking."
Thinking what? The last thing I remembered was... the execution? The trial? My temples throbbed.
Kirigiri's gloved hand slid a napkin toward me. "You're bleeding."
A drop of bright pink hit the table. I'd bitten through my lip.
Enoshima-san's knife screeched against her plate. "Ugh, this sucks! I'd kill for real coffee."
A beat of silence. Hagakure choked on his toast.
Murkro Pov
Wrong. Junko Enoshima would've screamed, thrown the table, or something explosive. This was... performative. Desperate.
I stabbed my fork into a pancake, resisting the urge to adjust the damn wig. Since when did Junko eat carbs?
Naegi was staring. Shit. I flashed a practiced smile—too wide, teeth bared. His grip on his glass tightened.
'He knows.'
The thought sent a sniper's focus down my spine. But then—
"You seem... tense, Enoshima-san." Kirigiri's voice cut through the din.
I forced a giggle. "Watching friends die kinda kills the appetite, y'know?"
A beat too late. Junko would've screamed it, maybe thrown a chair.
Naegi's eyes narrowed.
Bing bing bing!
The monitor blared. Saved by the bear.
'I need to review Junko's script again.'

My fingers traced the notebook's edge. Who wrote those words?
Bing bing bong!
Monokuma's grin filled the monitor. "Gym time, maggots! Don't keep death waiting~!"
Enoshima-san bolted up, her chair clattering to the floor. For a second, her pause was palpable before she kicked the chair over.
Then she was gone.
Kirigiri's voice cut through the ringing in my ears: "You noticed it too."
I wiped my mouth. The napkin came away pink. "Noticed what?"
Her eyes dropped to my notebook. "Exactly."
