"Look I'm not saying picnics aren't nice I'm just saying we'd have more fun going to the movies," Mikoto said as she finished up packing the food.

Nellie scowled at him " Your only saying that because you heard kami was going there,". Kami the new kid at school was incredibly shy, Mikoto had only got about 4 words out of him on the first day of school but for some reason he wanted to get close to the boy. He was also Nellies cousin so he'd seen him a couple of times prior to his unexpected arrival at his school.

" Well that's part of the reason, I'd feel bad for him to go alone to the cinemas, " Nellie smirked " oh but he's not going alone, he's meeting Marc there,"

Mikoto went a bright shade of red " You kept that from me on purpose," he accused Nellie still very angry.
"Hey you never asked if he-,"
The doorbell broke her mid sentence, Mikoto gave a side look as if to ask if she was expecting anyone but she shook her head violently.

He went up to the door and looked through the keyhole before opening it. The sight on the other side of the door brought a smile to his face; he saw golden hair and bright green eyes staring back at him. " Kami what brings you here?" He says with a grin on his face .

"Um I kinda live here I'm sorry you're ?" Mikoto sighed trying to look annoyed but kept his cheery composure. " Oh come on Kam, your future boyfriend. You know you really should know this by now," he smirked again as kami went a bright shade of pink , his skin was quite pale so it was hard not to miss it.

"Oh Mikoto stop teasing him," Nellie said while walking up to her cousin and giving him a side hug "What are you doing here Kamilon, I though you were at the movies with Marc," he groaned at the nickname. "I told you how much I hate that Nel and he never showed up, I waited there for 40 minutes,"

Mikoto laughed " Well that's not like Marc but if anything he's probably already sucking his girlfriends face off, how about you join the rest of us for a picnic, Marcs coming so you can go off on him there," he said with an eminent amount of confidence.

Kami liked that about him, he seemed so sanguine but it made him wonder if any or all of it was just an act. He didn't want to sound rude after zoning out for a good few seconds so he quickly answered "Oh um sure that sounds fun,"

"Great!" Mikoto said with a grin " Now come on we still have food to pack!" Mikoto grabber Kami's arm and pulled him into the kitchen while Nellie laughed at the sight and rolled her eyes. " You do that, I'll go change," she yelled.

Nellie walked to her vanity and looked at the mirror as she met the girl she created to kid her true self. She had dyed her hair black and blue to hide its true colour; a lustrous silver, she also bore blue contact lenses to hide her grey eyes. It not that she didn't like the colour of her hair and eyes, it was unusual for any person let alone one who was half Japanese, but she didn't hate it, it wasn't until elementary school were she revived non stop bullying from all the 4th graders that she almost did something unspeakable. Luckily in middle school she met her two best friends Mikoto and Juniper who helped her change her appearance to a point she was finally happy. All those dark memories had tainted her views on her appearance.

"Stop thinking about it Nels,"
She was brought out of her thoughts by Mikoto " You know we love you no matter what you look like,"

"I know but it's just," she turned round in her chair so she was facing him " It's still unnerving when I remember those days," she admitted. He sighed "I know it is but all of us have had dark pasts, and it's okay, now come on let's meet with the others," he finished while still wearing his infectious grin.
