"Cut the crap, why did you say that to Kami,"

He sighed before speaking after a long break "I needed to go away to figure all of this, I couldn't just leave without a reason so when he told me I thought it was the prefect way to disappear, it would make everything a lot easier,"

Nellie was trying to hold in a sarcastic laugh.

"Well you really are stupid then aren't you,"

He ignored this and turned to her "So you wanted to know everything I'll tell you. Centuries ago Izanami, the god of creation and death, found a way to kill every living thing on our earth, not just simple human beings but everything, including the spirits.

She started by first destroying the earth bit by bit, but the spirits weren't going to wait around for her to kill them so they decided to pick 6 of the most capable humans ,who were not only strong but also could work together as a whole, to hold a tiny bit of their power.

Now the spirits themselves can last for an eternity in Takamagahara but on earth, only a couple of days, this is why it was vital for the humans to learn how to master each power to protect the earth. However these humans could only live so long, so every a hundred years many men and women from all over the world came to prove them selves to the spirits, only 6 were ever ever chosen.  However this cycle all changed when the atomic bombs were dropped  on Hiroshima and Nagasaki . The humans couldn't protect anyone because they're powers weren't strong enough for something so unnatural.

With the bombs and the countless lives lost people lost all belief in the gods much less the spirits who brought them rain, land, water, fire, air and thunder, lightning and rain as a whole.

So for the next 60 years the earth slowly went into destruction, with no one fighting against Izanami she started killing off everything in her path. An attempt was made in the early 2000s by a bunch of high school friends, who after finding out of this long forgotten myth, tried to talk to the spirits to give them the power to help protect the earth.

They were doing a good thing and their bond was strong enough but the teens weren't. The power went straight through them and presumably disappeared forever however little did those teens know that a fraction of the spirits stayed behind.

They only found this out after all giving birth to their children that the burden of protecting the earth had now been passed along to the children . The spirits explained that the little bit of their power was  left over in each of the teens had moved to the newest and strongest life it could find this of course being the children.

Orchard was the ring leader of the group and so content on doing good in the world resulting  in her only child having the collective powers of all of the land spirits which included fire,water,air and thew wildlife. Orchard was scare for her daughters safety but she knew someday her child would be one of the protectors of our world. The other parents however tried to protect their children at all cost and begged that they would never have to for fill their purpose on earth,"

Hello humans :) Thank you so much for reading our story, me and @thisisnotourlasthunt came up with this story while we were writing together in our insta dms. This is kind of ( if you haven't already noticed haha) a YA fantasy ish story but it was really important to us to not only have (as relatable as we could) characters but also have them branch from so many different groups of people and couples as well. I assure you that a lot of our story will focus on the characters and their hardships just as much as the powers they all posses as well :)

Kami 17: BI, German boy (called by Kamu by his family, Kam by most of his friends and Kamilon by Nellie his cousin)

Nellie 16: straight,(demisexual) half American half Japanese girl (called by Nels by most of her friends and Nella by Kami as an insult)

Mikoto 17: Gay, half Japanese half Taiwanese boy who was born in America( called by Oto by most of his friends and family)

Victor 17: straight , English and American staying with his grandmother in America (called by Vic by his friends and grandmother and Vics by his dads )

Juniper 16: Pansexual, African American ( called by June by everyone and Junie by her boyfriend Marc pet names i know hehe)

Marc 17: straight, Honduran (everyone just calls him Marc, i know its sad he doesn't get a nickname haha)

Kai 17: straight, Japanese (you might not like him at first but hes an ok dude and basically saves everyone so give him a chance )
