Saviours of the spirits

Chapter 4:

After a few minutes, they arrived at the park, there were kids playing in the playground, dogs chasing squirrels and people giving pieces of bread to the ducks in the lake.

"Hideous Ducks" Mikoto said beside Kami.
"Huh?" he asked, confused.
"Oto is afraid of ducks. Every time a duck is at least five feet from him, he will freak out and yell at them"

Nellie explained. Kami had to bite his lower lip to try and not laugh at this information.

"Ducks are evil, underneath the feathers there is a spy and a murderer. When I was seven, I was eating my sandwich peacefully in a bench, suddenly one of those little pieces of shit came to me. As a good boy, I gave him the crust, but that bitch wasn't grateful for it, he literally jumped at me and bit my hand. I had to get five stitches, FIVE stitches, can you believe that Kam?! " he yelled, gaining stares from the people who passed us

"Ok maybe we should find a place far from ducks and the people in this park," Nellie said as she grabbed the picnic bag off Mikoto.

"HEY OTO!" Someone screamed as they all turned around they saw victor running up to them.

"You guys are so fucking hard to pin down, I got here 10 minutes ago you twats," he said cheerfully before turning to Kami and raising his hand.

"Hey I'm Victor I've saw your new to our school?"
Kami returned the shake with a shy smile
"I'm Kami, Nellies cousin,"

They began walking as Mikoto told Victor about Marc standing Kami up at the cinemas, Kami quickly interrupted.
"I'm sure he just had something better to do, also it's not like I was so intent in seeing orphan but Marc came on really strong,"

Victor laughed "Yeah that's him for you he's really in to making friends with everyone,"

Just as they finished their conversation they stopped under a tree near the lake, "Omg guys we have to go swimming," Nellie yelled, the replies were some disgruntled grudges

"Come on Nel we haven't even brought out swimming costumes,"
"Nah we'll just go in our shorts." Nellie quickly replied.

Once they finished setting up the picnic rug they took off their tops( nellie going swimming in her bra) and jumped into lake.

" Jesus Christ this is cold," Victor said while Nellie smirked at him
"Don't worry you can cuddle with me if you want,"

Victor  smirked and swam up to Nellie while Kami and Mikoto stayed together in the middle of the lake  simply taking .

A few minutes later Juniper and Marc showed up earning cheers from the group for their late arrival.

"So June and Marc are dating then?" Mikoto nodded and smirked.

"What about Victor and Nel? They seem to be close," he observed Mikoto laughed.

"Oh you wish they've been like that since middle school and never once hooked up, to be honest I kind of wish they would I mean their great friends and would make a good couple if Nel didn't just-"
His sentence was cut of as something dragged him under water.
"MIKOTO!" Kami screamed as the rest of the group started to realise what was going on.

The trashing in the water was quite substantial as the thing couninued to pull him down. Mikoto was trying to keep his head up from the water but it proved to be quite difficult the more the thing pulled.

Victor and Marc had swam over in no time at all and tried to grab onto Mikoto but it was way too strong for them.

Kami still in a state of shock until he swam under the water and came face to face with some sort of smoke grasping onto mikotos leg.

As soon as it saw him it seemed to convulse into the water, literally dissolving. Quickly kami swam up to Mikoto now still under water and grabbed him up to the surface to meet a very worried group.

They quickly got Mikotos body out of the water and lay him on the grass. A few seconds later the boys eyes finally opened he started coughing violently up lots of lake water. Kami was beside him and rubbing his back before he finally stopped.

"What the hell was that," He whispered out as his voice became hoarse
"What was what?" asked Victor behind them.
"Didn't you see it?" Kami said, still quite worried.
"No Kami, the only thing I saw was you going under water and taking him, that's it" Victor said calmly. How could he be so calm? Kami thought, he was quite surprised at how calm he was himself.

"It was like a cloud of smoak and it was grabbing my leg, dragging me under water" Mikoto said, shaking.
"Maybe it was a duck," Marc joked.
"Now it's not the time for jokes Marc, Mikoto almost died." Nellie hissed.
"I'm sorry for trying to lighten the mood" He murmured.
"Are you alright Oto?" Juniper asked as she placed her hand on his shoulder.
"I'm still a bit shaken up. Nothing a sandwich and chips can't solve" he said with a shrug.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Kami asked
"Yeah" Mikoto said with a smile. He made a move to stand up, but as he tried to stand up, his legs gave in and almost fell if it wasn't for Kami who caught him just in time.

"Thank you K-man" , he said. Kami wouldn't say it out loud, but he liked the nickname Mikoto gave him.

Haha but since this is a fantasy- ish story we couldn't just have no other worldly creature.
Also spoiler : K-man does not appear as a nickname ever again in the story, I don't know what Mariana was thinking cause we opted for Kamu or kamilon so yeah :)
Anyway that's it for chapter 4, as of now we already have over 20,000 words for this story and we're only on about 3,000 now so yeah.... haha thanks for reading guys!
