A man entered a gloomy cave. He was followed by two other explorers. He passed by spots of dry blood, dark inscriptions, and images of long forgotten gods. He saw an altar sculpted into the rock.

"How weird, John! I've been a speleologist for many years, but I have never seen something quite like that before."

"Lighter here," the other man said. Although they all had special gear on, their souls were overtaken by fear.

There, on the very spot where darkness was replaced by light, there was a black book with a cover that seemed to be made of human skin. The Book of the Dead. As soon as they found the object, the neck of the man carrying the light was broken. His head was spun halfway backwards, terrifying the other men. Doctor John tried to escape, but the unknown being that had emerged from the darkness of the cave's depths made a slight move of its hand, and the man's body was folded in half, and then lifted in the air. The last man, scared like a rabbit, ran faster than he had ever run in his whole life.

A loud laugh echoed...

"Let that human go. Let him spread the news that the end is near."

The creature obeyed his master by narrowing its red eyes in the pitch darkness. Torches of fire were lit to illuminate the cave and the threat that had arrived. It was real and tangible, and it had crossed the centuries exuding evil, destroying lives.

The laugh couldn't be anyone else's but Klaus'. The dark lord had reappeared.

Through ages he fed on human desires, destroyed each magical being he found, drained their power. Along all those years, Klaus had even learned how to change his shape to shift into someone else's body...

Philip wasn't aware of the great danger that waited for him.

Klaus went to the cave entrance and smiled at the desperate escape of the only explorer whose life had been spared by the warlock. He looked up at the sky and saw the Moon covered by clouds. He began to remember his journey. He had always been driven by eternal ambition, especially after he murdered Juan and Verena. However, on that day, he saw his most important target escape through a time travel portal that led him straight to the future. Nonetheless, Klaus had no need to worry about time. He had been turned immortal, after all.

It took him many centuries, but now he felt he was closer than ever to satiate his thirst for power. The knowledge that Juan was also living in that time was all the more reason for Klaus to let his chase begin.
