" oi, kid."

saera rubbed her eyes before squeezing them open slowly to reveal none other than mr creases, who was staring right down at her. she swore right there she could smell his breath as he exhaled a mix of what seemed like pepper mint, coffee and cheerios. saera scrunched her face in disgust slightly before she nodded, dragging herself out of the chair as she slung her backpack on her shoulders.

" come back here again straight after dismissal tomorrow, since you punks want to rebel against the school rules so much," mr creases added. saera looked over to the front to look at sunwoo, his head hung low as if to show his remorse. saera looked back at mr creases, uninterested, as she raised her eyebrow. " so... when can we leave? ".

mr creases crossed his arms. " you really don't know anything about manners, ms jo. your sister was a-,".

saera cut him off promptly, "— yeah, my sister was amazing. the greatest person ever. i'm her disciple, by the way. she's really nice and friendly and, well, everything i'm not. can we go now? ".

mr creases stared back at her in awe. his mouth was left agape as he finally shook his head, looking down. " please.. be punctual tomorrow." he was tired of having to match with the girl's energy, and didn't want to waste too much time trying to talk any sense out of her.

saera scoffs before springing onto her feet, bumping into a few tables and chairs on her way out. she brushes off the awkwardness by keeping a straight face. she ran down the stairs in haste, before a small voice spoke up behind her. she heard the door shut as rushed footsteps came running down the stairs behind her.

" saera." she noticed his familiar voice immediately. she paused as the footsteps grew closer. " that wasn't very polite of you."

saera smiled to herself. " i figured you'd say that, teacher's—,".

" however, what he did wasn't acceptable either."

saera turned back to see sunwoo tugging at the strap of his bag, his back straightened as he fixed his glasses shyly upon seeing her eyes come into contact with his.

sunwoo didn't exactly find joy in participating in conversations with others about things outside of school. he prefers to be more private about his personal life, that's really the only reason as to why hyunjae was his only friend. even so, that was only because the two had been together since kindergarten, and even then hyunjae went through extreme measures just to get to know the younger a little bit better.

however, sunwoo didn't know what had kicked into him that day. perhaps it was his curiosity— after all, he's the kind of person that needs to seek an answer for everything. shuffling his legs awkwardly, he rested his arm around the railings trying to make himself look calm and composed. " fuck, what am i doing? i look stupid," he thinks, while saera looks at him with a blank expression on her face.

he ends up going back into his straight posture, before coughing out to release all the awkward tension building up between the both of them. awkward tension that he had caused.

" well... i uh... i need to talk to you. about what happened during break," he finally croaks. " more specifically, the root cause of our detentions."

saera knew this was going to happen sooner or later. she sighed, " okay. let's head to the park."

they came into a quiet agreement and soon left school grounds to head to the park, side by side as the both of them anticipate what the talk would bring them.
