Rebound Date

Well after my not so pleasant breakdown and sudden exposure of feelings yesterday, I'm not the happiest about going to school

"It's gonna be fine" Mason assures me for the sixth time

"It's not, we're gonna get wierd looks all because of me" I whine

"Honey, we're octuplets, we're always gonna get wierd looks" Lason says and we all chuckle

I guess it's not all bad

Scratch that, it's terrible

I've had two classes with Aiden and Blake but not one of them are even attempting to talk to me

Well it's lunch now so there's no escaping

We're all at the lunch table sitting in completely awkward silence

"Look Payson-" Aiden starts but I cut him off

"Are we still on this" I ask

"I'm sorry I exploded yesterday, kapish?" I say

"You're not the one to apologize" Blake says

"Let's just forget about this okay?" I plead

Complete failure

"Could I ask just one question" Aiden asks me

I stare at him for a while but nod yes

"How do you guys manage to act okay after all you've been through"

The question hits a little close to home but..

"It's best to put on a smile, then people won't look at you with pity" I say smiling a little

Oh I hate pity

I hate a lot of things

Anyways, where's kesian?

Speak of the devil, he comes and sets his plate down but not next to me like he usually does

"Kesian i-" I start

"Oh, is that Maddie I hear calling me?" Kesian says to get out of our conversation

"Now that's petty Kesi" I say rolling my eyes

I see the nickname has an effect on him but he covers it up quickly

"Would you like to share with us why that was petty?" He asks me

I very much wouldn't

"I thought so, now ciao" he says and walks over to Maddie and her friends' table

I roll my eyes

"What was all that about" Celine asks me

I shrug

"It seems like you and him fight like every week, any normal person would think you like each other" Tori adds

I immediately get defensive

"What nooo pft" I say

"Chill, it was a joke" Tori laughs

Yeah a true one

After school closes I try to catch up with kesian, we need to talk, we can't just leave things how they were

I search the entire parking lot for him but then I spot his car

Running over to it, I find him and Maddie making out in the front seat

I start to retreat farther away till I'm fully out of sight

She's his girlfriend, but why does it hurt so much though
