Chapter five: losing control

I breathed heavily as I stopped in front of the girls restroom and slid down the wall and hid my face in the crook of my knees.
I heard Jake leave the cafeteria and sigh before walking by the bathroom and going to the male restroom, I rested my head against the door just as a ear splitting ringing noise sliced through the air.

Jake's p.o.v.

​​​​​​​I sighed and banged my head against the sink counter gently as I tried to think of something to do when a loud screeching sound sliced through the air along with a scream, my eyes widened as I ran over to the girls bathroom but hesitated.
People started pooling from their classrooms at the sound of the scream and I bit my lip as kelly, Sasha and Harley ran towards me. "What's going on?" Kelly asked worried, Sasha nodded and Harley frowned "who's in there?" She asked.
I frowned and ignored them before slamming open the door and running in, Harley told the others to wait as she ran in after me.
My eyes widened at the scene.

Akemi's p.o.v.

​​​​​​​ I screamed as a shooting pain shot through my whole body and my horns got bigger, my outfit changed just as a crown halo formed on my forehead hanging from my horns. A dangling heart sat in the middle of it in between my eyes just as black ooze seeped from my eyes and multiple cuts opened up only to gush out thick black blood.
I heard the door slam open before I watched my shadow disappear along with my tattoo on my shoulder. I screamed again and all of sudden I heard splashing and then I was pulled against someone's freezing cold body.

I cried as I sat in the persons arms trembling and crying "shhhh" they whispered.

jake's p.o.v.

​​​​​​​ heartless was sitting in a ball of magic energy in the middle of the bathroom, cuts gushing with black blood and her eyes seeping black ooze as they slowly turned black. Her horns and heart on her cheek fade from pink to a dark red as she cried and screamed in pain.
I ran over not minding the puddle of black blood and pulled her against my chest, she stiffened but stopped screaming as she trembled against me. The ball of energy disappeared into nothingness along with the blood and cuts. I watched as they were sucked back into her body along with her horns and crown and her eyes turned normal.
My eyes widened as she turned into a human right before my eyes, her hair shortened into stick straight short black hair and her uniform still on with an outline of where her tattoo used to be. The heart on her cheek disappeared as she went limp in my arms.
Harley's eyes widened and she took heartless from me before laying her on the ground and giving her cpr. She didn't wake up, I sat there tense and watched in horror.
I thought back to the day I lost her in a car accident in the winter and my eyes widened as I pushed Harley out of the way.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" She asked, I glared at her "we died together. Therefore We'll share pain together. We'll make a life together. I'm going to save her life" I growled, her eyes widened as it registered in her head what I was talking about.
"No heart....cold hearted..." she mumbled.
I propped up heartless's head as I took a deep breath and bit my lip in hesitation. "Well...hurry up!" Harley said, I shot her a look and then frowned "first leave" I said, her eyes narrowed "NO" "DO YOU WANT HER TO LIVE OR NOT" I yelled.
She frowned and ran out of the room just as I pressed my lips against hers, she continued to stay limp until I breathed into her slightly. Her eyes fluttered open and locked with mine.
"Looks like I owe you again" she mumbled weakly, I smiled before pulling her into a kiss. She answered and kissed back as she wrapped her hand around my neck, I pulled away and looked at her "let's get you out of here" I said. She nodded.
