I already filled out my quirk registration form. I ended up choosing Copy Cat, Empath, and Regeneration as my quirks. The other ones are easier to conceal or pretend that they are another quirk. As I was sitting down at my desk, I stared at the costume request form. It was still morning and the regular classes continued. I couldn't help but replay over what the principal suggested. How do I keep something minimal but in my style? I'm fairly simple to begin with. I've never liked the more extravagant or "extra" things in my life. Maybe minimalistic is my style? It wasn't long after when Bakugo rolled into class. I made eye contact and I buried my face into my desk. Feelings and images replaying in my head after this morning. I grazed my lips with my fingertips and felt the heat rise into my cheeks.
It was lunchtime and the class began to disperse. Behind me the loud redhead slammed on Bakugo's desk. Bakugo yelled, "What the hell do you think you're doing!?" I looked behind my shoulder and the spiky redhead gave a big grin, "Come hang out with us-" I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked back over. Izuku was smiling, "Hey Nozo-chan. Iida and Uraraka are going to the lunchroom. Want to come with?" He gestured to the boy in the glasses and the girl with brown hair. So those are their names. I gave a cheeky grin, "Sure! Let me clean up and I'll be right behind you. Midoriya smiled back, "Great!" I swiftly pulled my papers together along with my notebooks and stuffed them in my desk. As I was getting up to leave, I felt a piercing gaze on my back. I tried to ignore it as I was walking out, but I couldn't help but give one last peak over my shoulder. I made eye contact with Bakugo again. The red head and the blonde with the stripe were yelling back and forth over Bakugo's desk, but Bakugo sat there calmly staring back at me. I blushed. Does he not care or notice what he's doing!? I march out and throw the door closed behind me. I groaned, "Ugh, does he have any shame looking at me like that?"
"Who would have shame looking at you?"
I screeched. I flipped around and saw those familiar purple orbs. I immediately became flustered, "Ben! What're you doing here!?" He laughed and shrugged, "Well, you just ran off this morning. I wanted to see if you were feeling better from last night." Another voice came from behind him, "She's fine. She doesn't need you to check in on her." Ben and I looked to see where the source of the voice came from. Bakugo stood in the doorway to our classroom. The red head danced behind him trying to see. Ben smiled and waved, "Hey Bakugo, long time no see." Bakugo growled, "Don't act friendly with me bastard." The red head spoke out, "Bakugo, you shouldn't talk to upperclassmen like that!" Bakugo barked over his shoulder, "Stay out of my business dammit!" He flicked his attention back to us, his voice low, "She has me. Got it?" I started to get heated, "Ka-chan! Ben is my friend too!" I huffed, grabbing Ben's sleeve, "Come with me." I started pulling as I walked away to the lunch room. Ben stumbled and followed behind me. This time I won't look back. I internally screamed. I don't need him to always be in my business!
Once we made it to the lunchroom, we stopped. I looked around and saw Midoriya waving for me to come over. I waved back when Ben grabbed my wrist. I looked back, he looked discouraged. He asked, "Why does Bakugo act like that whenever we're together?" I put a hand on his, trying to meet his gaze, "I'm not sure. I know he can be a jerk sometimes, but he's not a bad person. Just really wound up." He finally looked at me, in a cool tone with no hesitation, "Is it because he likes you?" I felt my face light on fire. I waved frantically, "No way. I don't think he does. He just likes to mess with me sometimes because I piss him off for whatever reason that day." I continued to ramble but Ben laughed. I stopped and looked at him while he wiped away a tear, "My bad." He smiled at me, "That's good then. I'll see you later." He waved as he walked away and I stood dumbfounded. What did he mean by that? I tried to shake it off while getting a tray for lunch.
When I sat down next to Midoriya, I was immediately greeted by Uraraka, "Hey! Did you get in any trouble earlier?" I tilted my head to the side and realized she meant when Bakugo threw me under the damn bus. I shyly rubbed the back of my head, "A little bit-" I was cut off by Iida pushing up his glasses and grinning, "That should be expected from the great academy of UA. No rule broken shall go unpunished. They must teach us about justice, even in small ways." Midoriya sweated a little bit, "I don't think she actually deserved it. I think Ka-chan set her up to mess with her." Iida sat straight, astonished, "Wow, that's not very honorable." Iida turned to me, "Did you explain this to the principal?" I shrugged, "Kind of? I was still lectured a little bit." Ilda placed a hand on his chin in thought, "Well, he must have had a reason for doing so. Maybe just reaffirming student conduct. Such a great reminder!" We all laughed at Iida's enthusiasm while he sat confused. It was nice being in their friend group, but something still ached in my chest. I shrugged it off while we headed back into class. The evening is supposed to be hero training so I wonder what they'll be having us do today.
