*5 years later* (5 years after the prologue)
I woke up early to the sound of my alarm. Today I was meeting some clients I would be styling. I didn't know much about them since I wasn't paying attention when my boss explained it to me. All I knew was that it was a band who had more of a punk style, which was why I was recommended as their stylist. After applying my makeup and putting my hair in a ponytail, I put on a black skirt with a Green Day shirt, put on my boots and blazer, grabbed myself a bottle of water, and walked out the door. I drove down to the studio/office and went down to the meeting room. My boss was waiting for me. "Alright, they should be here soon. You will be styling them for a quick photo shoot and if all goes well, be a stylist on their tour." She said with a smile. I nodded and sat down. We sat there and waited. They were already ten minutes late.
"So when are they coming?" I asked. My boss shrugged.
"Soon." She replied dismissively. The door suddenly barged open. I flinched in my seat.
"I am so sorry we're late." A tired woman, who I'm guessing is their manager, said sitting down. I felt kinda bad for her, but at the same time I wanted to laugh at her stressed expression. "These are your clients. 5 Seconds of Summer." She said flipping through some papers. I almost spit out my water. I wasn't supposed to see them again! Especially him. That's why I moved to London in the first place. Well, that and the whole University and beauty internship, which turned into my job. I tried to look for a window to throw myself out of. This could not be happening. As I stood up to greet them, they each walked in. A boy who I didn't go to school with but knew as their drummer, Ashton, walked in first. Then Michael, Luke, and Calum. My eyes immediately stared at my feet and my hand played with one of the many bracelets on my wrist.
"So this is...Elle? Wait...ELLIE!" Luke immediately ran and gave me a hug. When we pulled away I noticed how different he looked. His hair was at least 3 inches tall in his quiff, he was like 10 feet tall, and he had a lip piercing. His eyes were still as blue as I remembered. I smiled.
"Luke! Wow your huge! And you look so different! How did you convince Liz to let you have that piercing?" I said laughing. He grinned at me and shrugged.
"FOUR EYES!" Michael yelled jumping onto me to give me a hug. I rolled my eyes at the nickname and hugged him back. He looked different too. He had tattoos, eyebrow piercings, and his hair was...red.
"RED HEAD!" I yelled mocking his enthusiasm. He pouted at me.
"No glasses!" He said pointing at my eyes in disbelief. I chuckled.
"Contacts!" I said pointing at my eyes as well. Ashton approached me. He seemed really giggly. I also liked his hair. A lot.
"Hi. I'm Ashton. Nice to meet you." He said kindly. I smiled as he gave me a hug.
"Hi I'm Elle. Nice to meet you too." I replied. Calum and I made eye contact. I looked away.
"You look really different." He said.
"Well a lot of things change in five years Hood." I said coldly. Luke laughed.
"Yeah well you don't even look like the same person! I mean, no glasses, your hair has green and blue in it, and you've definitely grown a lot in your uh, special lady parts, and you dress differently." Michael said not even hiding the fact he was checking me out. I rolled my eyes.
"That's called puberty Mike. It finally worked on me I guess." I said shrugging. "So Luke, am I pretty yet?" I joked remembering our old conversations.
"Oh drop dead stunning Ellie." Luke said with a wink. He nudged Calum. "Bet she's your type now huh, mate." Luke said laughing. Calum glared at him.
"Alright now that the introductions are over...let's get into details." My boss said. We all sat down as they explained my payment and their style. After everything was sorted out the boys and I drove down to the photo shoot.
"So you're a stylist now?" A voice asked behind me. I turned around as I got my things ready.
"Yeah. That's why I'm here isn't it." I responded emotionless. Calum looked at the floor.
"Right..." He muttered blushing. He soon recovered. "I uh, hope you get the job by the way. I missed having you around..." he said hopefully. I let out a cold laugh. Did he think I was stupid? He was the reason I left. I walked away to go do Luke's hair first. After doing all of their hair I sent them off.
It would be a few days until I found out whether I got the job or not. During those days memories from high school flooded back to me. Some I laughed at, but most I cringed at. After a week I got a call from my boss. "You got the job. Pack your bags Elle, you're going on tour."
