𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙇𝙊𝙂𝙐𝙀

[Y/N], a typical, cliche, girl with an oh-so-tragic backstory whose persona you can find in any attempted angst stories written by twelve-year-olds on the internet.

Stuck in strict poverty, [Y/N]'s parents' arguments are restless and unhinged. Even so, the struggling (almost suicidal) teen living in the stark slums of Tokyo with her eristic parents managed to find solace in two things: her school, and anime. Working multiple part-time jobs every night after school and rushing back home well after midnight to come back home to study stressed the girl in ways she couldn't explain. The additional expectation weighed upon [Y/N]'s shoulders by both her parents and the school didn't help with her deteriorating mental health, but even still, she managed to fight through it.

The girl couldn't help but envy the lives that anime characters had to carry. Sure, many of their predicaments were life-threatening and difficult, but no matter their how much their hardships increased, they always managed to fight through it. That was what the girl was truly envious about: their seemingly endless will to fight.

It was something that she never had to begin with.

So maybe that was why, as she fell from her balcony on a gloomy night, [Y/N] stared at the shooting star that seemed to dance in her vision, the girl couldn't help but wish, "I wish to be born in a better life. A life that I can enjoy. A life that I can never relate with." An impassive scoff escaped her. "Maybe a life in an anime wouldn't be half as bad."
