Defying Chapter 5: Let Me Back Up

-Maxwell's Point of View

"How did you do that? You're so great back there!" Riz said with full sincerity. I can see it in her eyes.

Then I looked at me with full curiosity like what are they talking about?

"Did what?" I said.

"I battled. I knew that dingdongs. But I don't know what happened next after Rain clenched me. I just went out I guess?" I added that fact.

"Went out?! Seriously dude. You almost crushed her if this weren't a training. Guess that's good for her too. Serves her right. She's too..." Spencer said. And before he can say the word.

"Cocky!" They all said in chorus.

"Can you guys tell me what happened? I can't remember a thing." I said to them.

Before they rumble themselves in telling me what happened, the computer voice activated to say something...

*"Frigidstone, Maxwell Calixto. Report to the head of Academy. Bring nothing with you. Go now. "*

"Why are they ordering me to report?" I told Brix.

"Maybe because what you have done a while ago. " he replied.

I can taste the bitter sensation of people's glare at me. If glares can kill, I should be dead by now. Well, there's some Physios with laser eyes, so they can literally kill.

I can't levitate now. I'm still feeling the ache in my head. Maybe what happened earlier drained my powers.

The entrance of the office of head of Academy is big. But in the knob, there's a scanner eith computerized voice.

"State your name." The scanner said.

"Maxwell Frigidstone. Delta Cluster. " after I said that a green light scanned my whole figure.

After that, the door opened. And I can see Mr. Starfall in the table. Looking expectantly.

"Goodmorning Mr. Starfall." I said courteously.

"Goodday Max. Sit down. " as he said that, I sat down the chair which is made of magnet. The floor is also made of magnet.

"Max. Do you know why they are not attracting each other?" He said unexpectedly.

I answered him with what I think is right. " Sir, the poles of the magnet of each are the same. Meaning they would repel each other. That's why they are not attracting. Physics. Simple Electromagnetism. Sir. "

"Very well. You're correct. I asked someone from the Omega Cluster a while ago the same question and he didn't even bothered to answer. Such a smug. " he said.

Why is he telling me this? Is this a practical quiz? I'm not even ready!

"See, Max, not everyone in this Academy has brains of yours and the skill in battling. I saw your skill earlier." He said then he touched something from the table then a scren appeared.

That was me. A while ago in the battle. It was the scene when Rain is perfectly squeezing me.

Then, everything happened. I can't believe I was that! For a moment I was like struggling to death then I change to a serial killer!

I saw how my body change. I have my own battle skin? Amazing!

"Don't tell me Max you're not the one here? You're such a joker. " then he laughed a t his full might.

"I am the one there Sir. But I don't think I know what I am doing back there. After Rain squeezed me, everything turned black and I was gone for a moment. " I said honestly. I heard him say something but I never had the chance to hear it.

"Okay. I'll dismiss you today. We'll go to your parents right now." He said. Say what? What did I say?

Did I ever mentioned that Mr. Starfall was called as Magnos. One of the greatest hero in their generation. Dad and him are buddies I think. Mr. Starfall can  control metals and the electromagnetic field of the Earth. So he can levitate too, in his own.

Mr. Starfall is a bit adult in age but young in face. His black suit paired with black pants suited him well. He has this gloves colored with silver.

We walked to the outside of the Academy. Then he told me...

"You can fly, yes?" He said with interrogation.

"Yes sir." I told him with affirmation.

"So, we don't need to take the plane I guess? So let's get started with this. " and before I can say something, he pushed me outwards the cliff.

He managed to follow me. He's controlling the electromagnetic fields making him able to fly.

I got up on my senses and flew according to the direction of the wind. He dazed at me waiting for my action.

This moment, I handled my styles. Now we're just floating in mid-air.

"What was that for?!" I almost yelled at him I guess.

"Becoming a superhero is not easy young one. First thing you should learn is to expect all the danger. You'll never say when or what will danger come. Understood?" He said. I nodded as a sign of affirmation.

We flew downwards. The wind never bothered me for I alwayd use my telekinesis to have a temporary shield. I don't want to land with all my hair messed up.

I can see my house from above. For it is only the house in a tree. Just as right. Our house is literally a tree house. That what happens when your mother is a relative of Mother Nature.

We're near so we parked at the receiving grounds. Then we saw Dad coming at us.

"Hey Max... Magnos!" I never seen Dad's eye to turn all electric. Guess he's having his battle skin.

"Wattson!" Mr. Starfall's head turned silver like real magnets. I don't think that they want to see each other. Are they enemies?

And before I can say something again, Dad started to make real thunder in his hands. I heard Dad calling it the Thunderclap. This can't be good...

In a blink of an eye, Mr. Starfall was shot with Thunderclap. And I am starting to think that is this really my story or theirs? Almost all the dialogues here are theirs and few are mine. -.-

I saw he is resisting the power of the thunder and just absorbing it.

"Aaaaaaaaah!" Dad shouted. He is giving all his might. The Thunderclap is so powerful. I have never seen this before.
